I opened my account, didn't qualify for the courtesy pay, which is fine. I was told to reapply in 6 months, I call just a couple of days before and told that I just didn't qualify period. I couldnt overdraft, the charge would get declined, but i would still get an overdraft charge as a part of the "policy". I can't get any loans of any kind, or any credit product with these guys. I thought my credit was just too horrible to get anything, but I went over to another bank, and got a checking with overdraft, savings, and a credit card, all within 2 days. I have been and will continue to remind everyone I know to be wary of UFCU.
UPDATE
I leave a bad review and explain my issues with the credit union. I get a call from Britney on August 28th, stating that she wants to talk to me about the experience I have had here with Utah first credit union. In this called I recorded with her, I was told, explicitly by Britney herself, that I can open a secured credit card with this business, and that I qualify for $400 of courtesy pay, I just need to reach out to her once my direct deposit comes in. I was also told that in 6 months, I will qualify for an unsecured credit product from utah first credit union. She reversed an overdraft fee, reopened my account, and we got off the call. I find out a couple of days later that my card is blocked because my account is closed and in collections (which is for the amount that she seemed to have reimbursed me), as well as me not being able to reach Britney after multiple tries and a transfer. Now I have a large direct deposit that is going to a closed account with no way to reach the person who gave me these false promises. Ironically, the person who apologized for the poor communication and was looking to solve the situation managed to somehow make the entire...
Read moreApplied for either a personal loan or Utah First’s Orange Visa card to help my family and me financially since I’m transitioning with a new employer. I worked with Sarah Overton, and she was absolutely helpful and her customer service was fantastic! Though my wife and I were recently discharged from Ch. 7 Bankruptcy, she was still able to approve us, as well as offer us another type of loan using the title to my vehicle to use these funds to pay off two credit cards my wife and I have, and basically switch to Utah First and their credit cards, which has a much lower interest rate than either of the other two credit cards (Capital One and Credit One Bank) in an effort to help us improve our credit score as during our text exchange I mentioned our goal to working on improving our credit scores so we can apply for our first time home buyers loan to purchase the home we are currently rent-to-owning. She was extremely helpful on several levels to my wife and me and we’re very grateful! I’m so glad we bank at Utah First Credit Union. The credit union and it’s employees have been nothing short of stellar with us since we first opened up our checking and saving accounts over two years ago. We’ll go...
Read more⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If I could give more stars, I would. My wife and I hate the car-buying process—between shady pricing, awkward dealer conversations, and the endless back-and-forth, it’s just exhausting. But then we got connected with Kierra at Utah First Credit Union, and everything changed.
Kierra didn’t just process a loan—she made the entire experience enjoyable, fast, and stress-free. She stayed late, sacrificed her own personal time, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was handled properly. She was the calm in the storm, even acting as a bridge between us and the dealership when things got confusing.
We walked away with a car and a sense of relief—because Kierra made it easy. Honestly, if every car purchase went like this, I’d buy one weekly. Maybe daily. That’s how smooth it was.
To whoever supervises Kierra: give her a bonus. A real one. A week off. Something. Because she is a gem, and your entire business line is better...
