Jackalope Lounge — Restaurant in Salt Lake City

Stopped by last night for my birthday crawl with five people ready to drink, tip, and dance. Bartender took and checked ID’s, then asked about our friend outside drinking water from a clear water bottle. We let him know that she was our friend who left her ID at home, and was happy to wait outside and be our DD. He immediately tossed the IDs back at us and told us he couldn’t serve us because it was a liability. I tried to tell him it was water, and we didn’t even try bringing her inside without an ID, and he ignored us. We went right next door to Chakra Lounge and had an AMAZING time. We went out several times to check on our friend through our time there, and it was never an issue. The same Jackalope bartender came out several times to try to get girls into the bar, and no one entered by the time we left. If you want some jackass with a power complex to (maybe) serve you, this is the place. Save your time and hard earned money, and go have a good time at Chakra. ❤️

Update: After reading and being completely shocked by some of the other reviews’ allegations, and after talking the night over with my friends, we realized the EXACT reason we got denied. Our friend, who I told the bartender was my girlfriend, was obviously over 21, which we told him, and Latina/Native. We also had another Native guy, and me, who is obviously queer. I can’t come to any other conclusion than the one that dozens of others have already realized; this bar has a clear desired clientele, and just make sure you fit it before you...

Ever been to a bar that just feels like home? This is that place for me. I walked in and was blown away by the amount of seating, the pool table in back, the cheap drinks, and the warm atmosphere.

The bartender was slinging drinks faster than I've ever seen, along with a side of banter and good cheer. The drinks were great, well made by someone who definitely knows their craft.

The other patrons we're all super respectful, cheerful and looked like they were having a great time. Lots of people taking up the daily drink specials! Oh and there's some snacks and such for sale too.

I'll definitely be back, between the fantastic vibes, great prices and feels-like-home...

On 12/30/24 at 20 minutes before closing me and my friends wanted to stop in really quick and get one last drink before they closed. Bar tender was hostile rude and slamming the drinks around super unprofessional aggressive behavior. I've never been so disrespected by a server in my life. He wouldn't even let us pick what drinks we wanted and told us we all get whiskey instead of the cocktails we wanted, the whole time he was complaining to us how he's closing in 20 mins and told us "You're killing me". I wrote a nice little letter to him on the receipt lol and gave him a $0 tip. He ran after me after I left the bar recording me and cursing me out. I hope this...
