I just moved to San diego from Boston. I went to this theater with my husband because we really enjoy watching movies together. We have always used AMC in boston and were happy to find one so close in the area.
We went on a friday to see a new movie that came out to find it was sold out, we watched a different movie instead. We decided to go back in a couple of days to try and catch the original movie wanted to see (the first time we went). We even downloaded tickets on Fandango so we could make sure we got in. we got there 30mins early after spending $22 on tickets (2) and getting 2 icee drinks, large popcorn, and a couple canducandy treats (food $30!! ). We got there just in time because the theater filled up packed quick! Ive never been so cramped in a AMC before.
Half way through the movie I felt sick. I had a headache and my stomach was upset, I figured maybe it was the theater, theater smell makes me a little sick at times.
When the movie was over we headed out and I just as I made out the exit I really needed to use the bathroom. I circled around to the entrance and wad confronted by staff at the red ropes. I asked to use the bathroom and the wowan staff member told me the bathrooms were out of order....as I watch people clearly walking into the bathrooms across the hall behind her. she told me to use the mall bathroom across the food court (was not aware. New to the mall layout). I was feeling so sick we canceled plans to go out to dinner. I went home straight to bed to rest. I woke up 2 hrs later with a yellow droll coming out of my mouth. I got up and threw up a combination of yellowish butter and popcorn. Will never go back. Do not recommend. Worst AMC I have ever been to. I guess the only upside are the...
Read moreI haven't been to this theater in about 5 years and I went back with my husband for a much needed date night, very disappointed... disgusting environment for a date . The staff seemed ok but the place was an absolute disgusting mess and it not rountinley maintained at all . It was beyond filthy and run down. The escalators on both levels were broken and we're being used as stairs , the lower level only had one side open being used as stairs which was very narrow so if people were coming up or down it was a game of who's going to go back the way they came and wait till the other person passes ( also this is a safety hazard even more so being in the lower level with limited access). The escalators were probably jammed from all the trash stuck to them . The bathroom on the lower level was discusting, one toilet was packed to the brim with blood stained and poop stained tissues and the panel above the toilet was dismantled with all it's wires pulled out and exposed, the other stalls had no TP. Inside the theater was filthy , I guess they don't have cleaning crews anymore , I had to sweep away trash on my assigned seat and move 2 cups before sitting down .... If it wasn't assigned I would have chosen a different seat since the previous person was a slob. They serve alcohol and the smell was a bit rank from people who spilled beer and it mixed with the other spilled rotting mess.... I felt like I was watching a movie somewhere in the back alleys of downtown San Diego. I saw the Avengers movie, although it was good ...I couldn't wait for it to end to get out of the stinky filth I was sitting.Disgustingly...
Read moreI left my wallet recently at this theater. I was the last person, other than my friend, to leave the theater the last showing of the night. By the time I was in my driveway and realized I did not have it, the theater was closed. When the theater reopened I was able to pick it up. Approximately 250$ was missing. I asked to speak with a manager and asked whom turned the wallet in, seeing as no one other than employees would have recovered it. He said they did not have a record of that and it was probably a janitor and that the janitorial staff will leave found items on a counter before they leave. He proceeded to tell me that they turn in loose money all the time, but he would talk to them. He stated they would probably not be available since they work all night and if he can't call me today he would Monday. I felt brushed off by this manager. I understand I am responsible for leaving my belongings and that I am most likely never seeing that money again. However, I feel under the circumstances the managerial staff should take my situation a little more serious that clearly someone they staff took $250 from a customer. I understand they work all night, but I work hard for my money too and don't appreciate someone insinuating i'm lying or don't know what i'm talking about when the evidence of the situation seems pretty clear. Anyway, if anything a warning, remember to look around you before you leave for any loose items because your dealing with a business that knowingly hires untrustworthy staff and incompetent managers to deal with...
