My recent experience at the store was deeply disappointing, primarily due to the conduct of Estela, the cashier. She was unhelpful in every sense of the word. Having worked in retail for a significant portion of my life, I can confidently say I would never treat a customer the way she treated me—with a dismissive attitude and unnecessary confrontation. I eventually had to ask for assistance from Linda, the manager.
While Linda was polite, she seemed overwhelmed and unable to resolve the issue at hand. I was informed that my coupons/ store discount could not be honored, so I opted to place an order online to secure the discounted price. However, upon arriving to pick up my order, I was told to cancel it due to a discrepancy in an item’s SKU. Which I felt was unnecessary because the item was the same price and description. I still did as told. When I attempted to reorder, I was informed that the promotion could no longer be applied because of a “one order per day” limit—despite the original order being canceled through no fault of my own.
This entire process consumed nearly two hours of my time, including the time I had carefully selected my wedding florals. My initial frustration started with the misleading in-store signage- advertising 70% off discounts that did not apply at checkout. The lack of clarity in pricing, coupled with the inability to honor an online discount of 40%, was incredibly frustrating.
Overall, this experience left much to be desired in terms of both customer service and store policy. I hope these concerns are taken seriously and...
Read moreI'm only writing this because this has happen almost every time that I try to shop at this location.
Every single time I walk into this location I get followed by loss prevention. But get this, I know it's loss prevention I USED TO WORK THERE.
I worked there for about two weeks before I quit. Nothing huge. It just wasn't for me. I would still come in to shop because I really liked their selection of washi tape. But every time I walk into this location I get followed like if I was gonna steal something. This happen at their previous and current location. I mean maybe I do look suspicious. I carry my backpack (that can look bulky at times because I'm a student) and usually a reusable bag. Maybe that's a huge red flag for them even though I consistently ask for help finding something and have always bought a number of things but whatever.
It's become a joke at this point because the loss prevention lady (hispanic, hair tied back, zip up hoody) makes it obvious. She doesn't even try to be sneaky in following you. I've face-timed my husband while shopping just to show him how ridiculous it looks. It's just uncomfortable. If you think I'm stealing then approach me instead of following me around the whole store. I just wanna buy some chalk without feeling extremely uncomfortable.
I could go on about the multiple instances that this has happen but I think you get the point now. Let me buy my effin chalk and washi tape in peace and...
Read moreI’ve worked in retail before and I understand mistakes can happen. I had a $5 and a $10 voucher that I wanted to use. The $10 was going to expire soon so that’s the only reason why I’m more upset. I noticed that when I got home the lady never scanned my $10 voucher. I should’ve checked I guess before I paid but also she should’ve scanned it. I called Michaels and they basically told I had to come in and do a refund and do a repurchase. I got there and explained my situation again and she told me that she had to call a manager over to help which is perfectly fine. Stephanie came over and explained to me that we would have to do a refund and then repurchase and use the $10 voucher which is fine with me. But then also mentioned that I wouldn’t be use my $5 voucher and that I used because I had to wait until it shows back into my account. I would’ve been perfectly fine with that but my $10 voucher expires literally the day of so I couldn’t wait a couple days. I’ve worked in customer services before and the place I used to work at had post sale adjustment where they can just scan your receipt and add on any coupons you want for a certain amount of days. Which is way more easier. I’m just upset that I wasn’t able to use both my $5 and $10 voucher on the same day when I told the lady I wanted...
