I had recently landed a new job that required me to wear a black hat as part of the uniform. I was very excited about this opportunity, but I also faced a problem: I did not own a black hat. I searched online for some places that sold black hats, but none of them seemed to have the right size, shape, or style that I wanted. There was only one store that I knew for sure carried black hats, and it was quite far from my home. I decided to take a chance and drive there, hoping that they would have what I needed.
When I arrived at the store, I was greeted by a friendly salesperson who asked me what I was looking for. I told him that I needed a black hat for my new job, and he directed me to the hat section. I scanned the shelves, looking for the perfect black hat. To my dismay, I saw that most of the hats were either too big, too small, or too flashy for my taste. I was about to give up when I spotted a black hat that looked just right. It was simple, elegant, and fit me perfectly. I grabbed it and checked the price tag. It was surprisingly affordable, and I felt a surge of relief and joy.
I quickly paid for the hat and thanked the salesperson. I was in and out of the store in less than 15 minutes. I felt very lucky to have found the last black hat, and I could not wait to wear it for my new job. I hoped that it would make a good impression on my boss and co-workers and that it would bring me success...
Read moreToday, on the 4th day of Black History Month, at this Michael’s (with several displays for Black History Month), I witnessed an employee harass and racially discriminate against a Black male customer. The employee was wearing a single braid and red/black flannel jacket, I was told her name is Cynthia (sp?). Cynthia followed a Black man around the store as he was shopping in the sewing aisle near me. In a hostile and accusatory voice, she asked if he needed help finding something. He replied that he didn’t, to which she continued to bother him, and proceeded to get upset when he (naturally) raised his voice to continue repeating he didn’t need help. She then accused him of being drunk in the store, to which he revealed the can he was holding was a Canada Dry soda. Realizing she had failed again, she told him to leave the store, though she did not provide any clear reasoning as to why he needed to leave. When I informed her that what she was doing was blatantly racist, she became upset with me. I am absolutely disgusted by what I witnessed today and I have taken the situation to social media....
Read moreOn March 16th, 2021 Tuesday and about 15 minutes before 9:00 P.M. closing time, I went into the Michaels store on Midway in San Diego, Ca. To buy some pencil lead and glue. Was treated with professionalism to the max. The store manager, a guy with dark hair helped me with the lead, but they did not carry the color of lead that I wanted. Helped me with the glue also. He handed me over to the cashier when he found he could not answer all of my questions. She, an ex-marine knew her "stuff". She was full of a lot of craft knowledge.. Both of these people deserve a raise for their effort. Especially being close to closing time and both of them probably tired... If Michaels had employees like these in all their stores, the companies profits would soar upward. Treat your employees right, pay them well and good benefits.... They will stay with you, gain experience, and pass that on as performance in the sales of your goods and services. Thus good and...
