Spirit Halloween — Local services in San Diego

Went here to buy something for my upcoming halloween costume with one of my friends after school. We walked in and were greeted by NO ONE, this is important. We walked around for a bit and were eventually approached by a male employee who told us in an annoyed tone, that we needed to leave our backpacks at the front and that someone should have told us to do so, so we politely told him no one had said such thing. We complied and left our bags on the counter where he told us to set them, when we were yet again approached by an even more hostile female employee, who I assume to be the manager. She repeatedly demanded we put our bags on the floor without giving us a chance to respond, we again complied and my friend simply said "ok, ok" as in we understood and she did not need to keep repeating her sentence. The moment we turned away to finally shop, the female employee shouted at us saying if we're going to have "attitude" we can leave "her" store, we were confused as we have complied with everything they have said and explained to them multiple times that no one had initially told us to set our bags down. She insisted that we ignored staff when they supposedly tried to tell us to put our bags away when we entered the store, when again not a single employee came up or even spoke to us before all this. When she finally left us alone because we had done nothing wrong, we didn't even want to be there any longer and left. I came to that store planning on buying something and they drove away customers with their extremely unprofessional, rude and frankly ageist behavior. I don’t recommend going here. Their service is poor and they don’t have a friendly attitude. I went here to get a Halloween costume with my sister. The employees gave us a lot of attitude. They told us we could try them on and we got screamed at and then they said we could take it out of the bad and we did and she yelled at us again. She was speaking to us rudely and just straight up screaming at us. I said I was sorry and she continued to yell. She then was watching us a lot since those 2 moments. With someone who has a learning disability you should clear up your rules because sometimes I won’t understand them. I have never been so condescended in my entire life, I am beside myself. I was told by the cashier, with costumes in hand, that I could return my costumes by 11 pm tonight. I came back, 30 minutes later, after unboxing the costume (I DID NOT EVEN TRY IT ON) and realizing that it was not what I wanted, I took it back. I was told it was not returnable when I tried to return it. After explaining my situation, the staff was condescending, rude, and even told us to leave the store. I feel taken advantage of and was left helpless. They were unaccommodating and never once apologized. Save your money and time and go across the street to Party City. I will NEVER go to any Spirit...
