I hadn't been to a bar in years, and I felt like trying to relive my glory days. Thrusters was right by my hotel, so I thought, why not? I arrived about midnight, I don't remember the day, but it was a weeknight, and there was karaoke. It was fun listening to people butcher songs. The drinks seemed fairly inexpensive for a bar located a block from the beach. I met a couple of decent folks. The only negative I experienced was when the guy at the bar next to me disputed his bill. The female bartender pulled the ole you're making me uncomfortable line and had security escort the guy out. Seemed kind of excessive, the guy just asked a question, he wasn't rude or anything. Other than that, I had a great time. I almost got some nookie too. I had fun stumbling around PB when the bar closed. I'm definitely planning on going back, excellent little dive bar. It's nice that it's open til 2 when most of the bars in PB close at midnight. I tried a couple others on my way to thrusters, like the shore club etc and they definitely weren't my scene.

Read moreThis is THE Seahawks bar in San Diego! Great place for out of town Hawk's fans to watch the games together. Every TV is tuned to the game and they play the broadcast audio on the sound system. On top of that, they have someone cut the audio during the commercial breaks and play upbeat music. They even played some Nirvana and Maclemore.
I highly recommend sitting in the shaded outdoor patio in the back of the bar. The audio is quieter than inside the bar so you can chat more easily.
We had a couple of really tasty craft beers on tap. They don't serve any food so be sure to bring some takeout from one of the places in the neighborhood. I recommend the burger place right next door to the bar. Really satisfying burgers and good curly fries. They were great with the craft beers. I also recommend the Mexican place across the street called La Perla. Best California Burrito I've had.
If you are a Hawk's fan in SD you've got to go watch the game at Thrusters Lounge.
Bonus: It's two short blocks walk to the...
Read moreRude security guard. Kicked out the girls for trying to dry pants. Acted like we were being disrespectful and told us it’s common sense to not go into the mens restroom if men can’t go into the womens. We were trying to use the dryer and knocked and kept the door open since no one was inside. It was our first time in San Diego and honestly, as great as the bartenders were, the security guy ruined it for all. Very unfortunate situation. Also, we had a guy knock on the womens door to check on his female friend and that was ok but not for us to knock on the mens. I feel like he was on a power trip and because he spoke in a calmer tone with a male guest that came to diffuse the situation and he spoke to women with a...
