I am new to the area. This is my first experience with this mall. Upon entering the mall at the food court doors it smelled bad. It was around 11 a.m. before the food court was full of people. It did not smell like food because it appears that no one was buying food. It smelled old, stale, and like pee Even before walking into the mall. I was driving around to find a parking space and I happened to notice a young black guy that seemed to stare at me. Once I parked and got out of my car, I walk very slow because I can't walk as well right now but, once entering inside the food court, I immediately noticed the same guy standing over by the ATM machine. This made me a little concerned but then he left and went as if he was going to the bathroom area. I continued to head towards the bathroom which is the reason why I came into the food court and I saw that he was sitting in a chair and looking at me as I was walking. I immediately turned around and walked back to my car and went to the library to use the bathroom. Maybe it was a coincidence of the young black guy looking and maybe he was looking at the door and looking in the direction of me when I came in because maybe he was waiting for someone but it was uncomfortable for me. The mall smells like it needed to be cleaned sanitize vacuumed...

Went to this mall to purchase a new mattress. Drove around the mall, noted the parking lot was mostly empty and it was around 1:30 pm. Visually the mall looked "tired" from the outside. Unfortunately it looked the same on the inside. We entered through one of its anchor department stores and noted immediately - very few customers. What really was shocking was that we saw a lack of sales people to help the customers that were in the store. Finding our way to the mattress department and wanting to purchase a mattress, we were told by a person we found in jewelry that the person who was the lead in selling mattresses would not be in until 4 pm. We could wait the 3 hours for her or just leave. There was no sales person in the mattress department. We left and drove back to our home in Bluffton, SC. A mattress is a major purchase and we needed questions answered. No one in the store could help. Before exiting the mall we walked through it and not to our surprise found very few people shopping. That lack of vibrancy is depressing. This mall needs up grades from its look outside and inside to better management. That would draw people in I think.
