I was pleasantly surprised when the first cake I sent to my family in Ohio brought great comments and many smiles. My inlaws are elderly folks in small town Ohio. And I love them and wanted to share something special. I researched and found the name of a place I visited when my wife and I visited our son in the Army in Georgia. The first cake - a dreamsicle cake looked great in the pics. It was so good my mother inlaw asked a few months later if I could repeat the order. And indeed - making an old woman happy was my pleasure. But what a disappointment. At first she refused to talk about it. She was literally mad about the experience. Basically it was nothing like the original and actually was poor quality. I was c rushed to think I imposed this on my mother-in-law. I called and left a message as the first step - though received no recognition of my call. Then I wrote via email...not once but twice. No reply. But then trying 2 other email addresses I did finally get a reply from someone who appeared to be a customers service manager. She promised to check into it and asked for my details which I promptly sent. A day went by - no reply. A week finally went by and I wrote again. She said - I am still trying to get resolution and will get back to you soon.
I am not wealthy - but I am ok paying good money for something of quality. These cakes cost 80 dollars each. The first one was great. So I guess I just hit the lottery - and they were just ok ignoring me. I have never heard back and I know now they just don't care what people think of their products. I want you to know - there are plenty of great places to buy a cake online. It seems Savannah Candy Kitchen is not one of...
Read moreMy husband and I live in Greenville, SC and we came to Savannah for a little getaway. My husband loves Hummingbird Cakes but it is soooo hard to find them so as we was driving to Savannah on Wednesday I did a quick Google search to see if I could get lucky and find a place that has them and surprise him. I was completely blown away by the reviews about your Hummingbird Cake and I knew I had to get one! So I sent a message through Facebook and I got a quick response confirming that you all had them! I was ecstatic... So we get to town and head straight there! I go straight to the counter and ask the young lady for a Hummingbird Cake, and she says they don't carry them at this store, you have to order them. I was so confused, I told her I had spoken to someone through messenger and confirmed you had these. She immediately went to ask for some help and a young lady came out and introduced herself as the general manager? She was AMAZING!! she let me know that the cakes had to be ordered online, but she can have one there tomorrow for us! She asked us for our name and phone number and didn't even have us prepay. She told me that she would be off on Thursday and told me who to ask for and they would have my cake ready! We arrived the next day and I ran in to see if it was there and the young man came out with it immediately! He even gave us a 10% discount. Our experience with your company was phenomenal. Hands down the best experience we have ever had from a company. It was my fault for misunderstanding that I needed to order the cake, but she took ownership of MY mistake and exceeded every expectation! You all have a amazing team! Oh, and the...
Read moreI went to the store you have on Riverstreet Saturday night. I wasn’t going to send an email to complain but I just got home and he gave me the wrong apples. The lady was extremely rude to start off with. I did come in pretty late and they were close to closing and I can understand that. I told her what I wanted and I asked about a few apples and what was on them. She was like I don’t know. Just trying to rush me out the store. I settled on two apples, a rice crispy treat, a bottle Dr Pepper, and some turtles. White chocolate and milk chocolate. She put all the turtles in the same bag so they weren’t separated. I still didn’t say anything. She was very grumpy. I live about 4 hours away. I came to visit my son and put them in the fridge so I didn’t look at the apples. I just got home and she gave me the wrong apples after all that. I even pointed at the one I wanted and she said yes I said that kind already being so rude. Sorry but I spent 60 dollars in that store. It may not be much to you but it is to me. I was gonna get the pralines also but she rang me up so fast and told me a total before I could even ask for any. I don’t know her name unless it’s on the receipt. I forgot to pay for the bottled Dr. Pepper and had to get that also and she rolled her eyes and slammed some stuff down. I told her I was sorry and can put it back, she said no I got it. Just ridiculous to have that attitude when working with the public. I’m sorry it was near the closing time but...
