Maverick's of Scottsdale — Attraction in Scottsdale

I stumbled upon this store after having an appointment across the street to make a custom hat. I had walked out of the store across the street because the sales rep was not warm and only cared about making as many sales as possible. That store was more focused on being Instagram and bachelorette worthy. Now mavericks is the complete opposite. Upon walking into the store, we were immediately greeted. I had no idea that in the back of the store, there was a hat bar. It is so much more intimiate and welcoming. I never felt rushed. After walking around for a few minutes and trying on different hat colors, Derek came to my rescue. He helped me pick the perfect hat color and perfect hat size. They have so many selections of items to customize your hat. They have ribbons, feathers, charms, bandanas, playing cards and many more. They are also able to brand your hat or draw a free handed design. Derek was patient with me as I kept walking in circles trying to figure out what I wanted my hat to look like. You're able to add as many items to your hat for 1 total cost. Derek is able to freehand a design onto the hat, which he did for my husband's hat and it looks incredible. The hat was a tiny bit too loose, so Derek added a small adjustment so that it fit perfectly. I do plan to come back to Arizona and when I do, I will not hesitate to return to Mavericks and purchase another color and have it completely customized as well. Mavericks of Scottsdale is lucky to have Nekoda! She made my entire shopping experience exceptional from start to finish. I came in for some new western wear unsure of exactly what I was looking for… until Nekoda came over and helped me narrow down my options, pick the perfect outfit (she knew exactly what shirt and jeans would look good together) and I ended up liking it so much I had to buy it. I didn’t feel rushed at all and had an enjoyable experience the whole time I was in the store. I ended up leaving with Kimes Ranch jeans and a Rock and Roll Denim polo that looked great together. Nekoda took the time to make sure everything fit right, looked good, and made me feel confident in what I was buying. She turned what could’ve been a quick stop into an enjoyable experience where I was able to purchase a nice new outfit. Nekoda absolutely deserves recognition (and honestly a raise) for the outstanding service she provided while I was in the store.

Sales associates like Nekoda are the reason customers come back and stay loyal!!

I also have to point out how sharp the store looked, especially the boots on display they were polished well and looked very professional

My wife and I visited for the first time later in the evening and were looking for something to eat. We were directed to the restaurant, where we sat at the bar for ten minutes without being greeted. Eventually, we had to wave down someone to inquire about ordering food, only to be told that part of the bar was closed. Despite several employees seeing us at the bar, no one informed us of this during our wait.

We were then directed to another area to get food, and the manager walked us over, leading us to believe we would at least receive an apology for our wait or some acknowledgment. However, nothing happened—he simply spoke to the bartender and then walked away without addressing us.

As a local business owner, I find this level of customer service absolutely unacceptable. The bartender was nice, which is the only reason I’m giving two stars instead of one.
