I'm incredibly disappointed with this store. With how many five star reviews they have. I was really hoping that they were going to deliver, but they didn't.
I came in on Saturday with my mother, my daughter, and my niece to enjoy a really nice Mother's Day treat. However, even with making a reservation online, I was still treated like the four workers in the store couldn't even be bothered with helping us.
I was asked when I came in if I had a reservation which I said yes to let them know it was for four people at 2:30. We didn't have anybody offer to help us. I had to keep bugging one of the workers in order to answer some basic questions, like do they have any gnome patches or sloth patches. Their response was always we have what's out in the drawers.
My daughter kind of went berserk choosing a whole bunch of crazy charms, patches and other designs for her hat and the worker. Let me know that her hat was currently at $149 for a trucker hat! So I asked her to break down the price of each of the decorations she had picked out. It was really frustrating to get pricing from the workers at the store and it felt like they were constantly just making prices up. One of the items that my daughter picked out was gold filled charms and I had to go through three workers in order to find out what the costs of those were. I even had a second worker come over to me and explain to me the exact same thing. The first worker explained as far as not knowing the costs and having to go and find out what the cost was but that they think it's between $15 and $20 a charm because it's gold filled. At that point in time I'd been there for an hour and a half and without any help I was trying to get out of there.
Honestly, if anybody was to let me know that they were going here I would tell them to go somewhere else. It is way overpriced, the workers are not helpful, the pricing is skewed and subjective, and it's not a welcoming environment.
I'm truly disappointed with this experience. I wanted to do something special for my mother, my daughter, and my niece, and this wound up being a huge cluster. We will not be back. And I hope my review helps anybody who's looking for a fun activity to do with their girlfriends so that you'll know what you're...
Read moreI came away with a hat that I loved, but there were issues in both the experience and quality…
I came into the store on my birthday, so excited to make a special custom hat. The (first) sales associate was attentive and helpful. I ended up deciding on a pink hat with several embellishments, each picked with intention.
As we were finalizing the hat, another (second) sales associate came over and made quick judgements - saying the that I should take one broach off and replace some of the pieces with her recommendations. She put together the hat as she suggested— and yet I didn’t like it and the first sales associate agreed she didn’t vibe with it either.
The first sales associate had been with me through the entire process and I trusted her... Having this new abrupt opinion wasn’t helpful, so I told the second sales associate just that —having a 3rd opinion wasn’t helpful and I’d prefer to stick with the first sales associate. She commented that she was the owner and gives her sign off on all the hats - then walked away smugly. She could have handled that with way more grace, as she didn’t seem to care about what hat I desired as a customer. Had she asked more questions, paid attention to my maximalist style—she’d see that we were nearly done and what were were creating was in fact aligned. From then on it felt tense in the store, I just wanted to finish my hat and leave. (Not a great feeling to have on your birthday...)
A month later, I’m disappointed with the quality of the hat. Many of the adornments (one of the feathers, the matches) weren’t glued down at all, then in other spots had very minimal glue (that led to the adornments not holding up, even losing the signature tarot card 😢), the burn marks around the rim / on the top completely faded away (how does that even happen, strange?) and the liner inside the hat frays all around the edges and doesn’t stay put (also a piece not secured in any way). For a $375 hat I’d expect better quality, and a more gracious owner.

Read moreI recommend Turquoise Candy Hat bar to anyone looking for a hat bar experience. I have had experiences at other hat bars (including the one down the street from this place) and they all paled in comparison. We came in a big group (over 12 people, we did have a reservation) and were greeted at the door immediately. The whole process was explained quickly and clearly so we could get to creating as fast as possible! Everyone who helped us was so very kind and patient, but here are the highlights of the experience: The space was very roomy, our large group wasn’t the only one in there and there was still plenty of room to move about comfortably. They are upfront about their prices and have people available to help you craft something you love AND within budget. They also have options for every budget. If you lack creative talent the ladies at the bar are so helpful! I had no idea what I wanted and only went up with four items I wanted on my hat and Faith turned it into a masterpiece! They are patient! If you are making a custom hat be prepared to spend a lot of time looking at all of the options! Other hat bars I’ve been to have hurried me out the door, not at Turquoise Hat Bar! The staff was very patient and understanding! The space is beautiful, clean, comfortable and confident! Any and all feel welcome! 12/10 I will recommend Turquoise Hat Bar to anyone who asks if I know...
