I only came here to get one nail fixed. Iāve previously left a review about a bad experience, but since my regular nail tech is out for the holiday and this salon is close to home, I decided to give it another shot. I called ahead to schedule a 12 PM appointment specifically because I didnāt have time to sit around waiting.
When I arrived at 12 PM, I was asked, āWhat do you want?ā I explained I had a scheduled appointment, and they just ignored me. No greeting, no acknowledgment. I ended up waiting until 12:45 before anyone invited me to sit down. Still no apology or explanation for the delay.
When I booked the appointment, I verified over the phone that they had the exact color I needed. But once I sat down, the nail tech began drilling on my nail and then informed me they didnāt have the color. I reminded her I called ahead to confirm, and she replied, āYou didnāt speak to me,ā and claimed the other employees ādonāt know the colors.ā She said she had something similar, so I asked to see it. She tossed the polish at me instead of handing it over. I said we could give it a try, and she snatched my hand and continued drilling.
Rather than actually fixing the nail, she simply layered acrylic over it and told me to wait again. I was left sitting for another 20 minutes while she started working on another client. Then she charged me $10 for what wasnāt even really a fix.
I stopped coming to this salon before for multiple reasons, and unfortunately, this visit reminded me why. There is a noticeable difference in how clients are treated based on skin tone. As a darker-skinned Black woman, Iāve consistently been met with rudeness and disregard at this salon. Meanwhile, Iāve watched lighter-skinned and racially ambiguous clients receive better treatment, prompt service, and more respectful communication.
This place picks and chooses whose appointments they respect and whose time they waste. The service was unprofessional, the attitude was uncalled for, and overall, it was an extremely disappointing experience again. If I could give zero...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place is HORRIBLE. The original owners of Couture Nails are gone and the owner of Beverly nails from Jackson moved there. She is HORRIBLE. Beyond unprofessional and a scammer. I got a full set done and the nails were as short as possible and square which shouldāve been $25. Just like every nail salon. I decided to get gel polish which is $5 ANYWHERE AND EVERY WHERE. She charged my card $40 for a short regular full set with gel polish. When I called her to ask why my card was charged $40 she said it was because of the gel that it totaled to $40. I asked her how much the gel was and she said $15!!! She did not say this in person, gel has always been $5 more. I shouldāve paid $30 at the most. She lies ALL THE TIME. They change the price depending on who the customer is. Their work is absolute trash. The worst of the worst. I wouldnāt recommend this place to my worst enemy. On top of all that the shape of the nails which was supposed to be square was curved in and everytime I asked her to fix it she ignored me and kept going. When I asked her to make the shorter she refused to. When I asked her to file it some more she refused to. My nails are still curved and becaus she didnāt file it enough they scratch and are extremely sharp. I absolutely hate this place. They shouldāve been out of business a long time ago. The most unsanitary and unprofessional nail shop in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt was the first time I decided to have my nails done at the salon. At the beginning I was excited and the person who greeted me was trustworthy. I expected her to do my nails, but the other person who had an attitude towards me the whole time told me she was about to start doing my nails. She avoided eye contact and communication by all costs, which made me super uncomfortable. I chose the color at the beginning, and then she was about to put glue and artificial nails on my natural nails which needed treatment. Come on, I have so many sets of artificial nails at home and I was so fed up with glue making my nails suffer. This was the reason I came to the salon, if I wanted artificial nails, I would have stayed home. During the process I noticed that all instruments were taken from random places and did not look sterile. On top of that, the lady put the gloves on for 5 minutes and worked the whole time with her bare hands. What made me very uncomfortable is her trying to push my cuticles with her own nails š. She tripped my natural nails so much that they look like a 6 y.o. girl's painted nails for the first time. And it was $55!!!!! Excuse me... If you'd like a professional, sterile, welcoming attitude, please, never...
