Long Review. If you want the basic break down skip to the end. If you want explanations read on.
SO. Let me just start by saying, I see a LOT of movies. But im a typical AMC guy. Why? Their corporatization makes it hard to find any variation in what to expect at the theatre.
Tonight however, I decided to go against my better judgement and go to Regal. WHY, you may ask? The answer is simple. Beetlejuice 2 premiered, and being a fan boy I simply had to have the merch that regal promoted online for the movie release. Now I know this may seem petty but think about it. I took the time to do my homework first. Regal announced online and social media that they would be offering the sand-worm popcorn bucket. (If you are confused simply google it) Now after doing my research I called the Regal Meridian and after quite a process just to speak to a human (who I must give credit where its due, was extremely helpful and polite).
While speaking to the local staff I inquired if they would be among those to offer this merch. They confirmed that yes they would. SO eagerly anticipating this I pre-purchased early release tickets for a friend and I and we made it a night. HOWEVER I was disappointed upon arrival to find that they did not offer said merchandise. (Disappointing).
Next. I was pleased to see they offer a full bar. However I found the entire process quite cumbersome. The bartender refused to sell more than one shot at a time; which Im sure is not his fault and is policy however it was super weird and over priced. I wanted to add a double shot to my fountain drink and he completely forbade this. So my friend and I had to order 1 shot each, pay for them. Consume them. And then repeat the process with a max of 2 shots each. And a total of nearly $60... If you wanna drink, I recommend you pregame, or use that purse.
Next on to the theatre. Now this is a 3-4 story establishment ( cant remember exactly) however what I do remember is that we arrived on the 1st floor and our theatre was on the TOP floor, and the escalator was closed....so 4 flights of steps we hiked up, and the facility was super hot/muggy inside. Despite seeing the movie in 4DX (a fun immersive experience) the theatre itself was just FAR TOO HOT, and I everyone near us and in my party were sweating (except when the fans kicked on for theatrical appeal)

Read moreI used to go to this theater twice a month when I was a teenager (I’m 43 now). I regularly ran in to people I knew. It was bustling. You had to get there early to account for the lines you had to stand in for concessions and for the ticket check.
I took my family to this theater last night and felt like I was in a ghost town.
Pluses: The popcorn was fresh. The sound quality and screen quality were great. The people working there were nice.
Negatives: The escalators are closed. It’s three stories tall. I don’t know if they are out of service because they are broken or if the business is trying to save on energy costs when the theater isn’t busy. Either way, it really made it feel like the Meridian just can’t keep itself going. They alerted us that there was an elevator, so we knew there was an easier way to get to the third floor where our theater room was. We took the stairs anyway. The carpet was the same carpet that it was 20 years ago- wildly outdated and weathered.
I don’t know if the old architecture just can’t keep up with the sound system anymore or if the building is literally falling apart, but our seats shook wildly throughout the movie. It seemed like there was a film playing in the theater room below us and that our seats shook whenever the bass picked up for that movie.
There were 5 other people in our movie… totaling 9– for a 7:30 movie on a Sunday.
I really don’t understand this. Tickets were $19 each. Save yourself, Meridian. Put together a 6 month marketing campaign, drop your ticket prices to a $12 special, get some butts in the seats, and revitalize this place. You are across the street from the very busy Cheesecake Factory and next to a gamer hub. You have the foot traffic if you want to utilize it and people will travel for a good price and a great experience.
People are still going to movies.
I can’t recommend this theater now. Nearly every other theater will be a better experience. But in its day, it was the best theater around. I hope they do something about it. It really doesn’t have to...
Read moreWent there last month as part of a "school"🏫(TMTC) field trip with the whole class of fellow "students". We watched 📺 the movie "Flight Risk" ✈️🎬🎟️🎦📽️🍿: [ Flight Risk": A pilot transports an Air Marshal accompanying a fugitive to trial. As they cross the Alaskan wilderness, tensions soar and trust is tested, as not everyone on board is who they seem.

Overall it was a good movie, worth watching, especially in theaters, the psychology represented by Mark's character was fascinating & accurate for the type of person's employed in such nefarious enterprises. The marchal was portrayed as a bit silly for such a serious law enforcement officer role. Topher Graces persona, was ...very Topher Gracey 🫣🥸🤓🙃
Anyways, the establishment is fairly modern with automated 🏧 ticket 🎫 purchasing kiosks.
The 🥈 security screening process is fairly uniform, so count on any bags 🎒 being searched before you can fully enter the building 🏢.
The hallways, floors , bathrooms 🚽 🪠 , and seating 💺 🪑 are super clean 🫧 🪥 (minus atyocial movie 🎥 room floors = dark rooms & sticky soda 🥤 are a combo for such outcomes) .
The staff ⚕️ is mostly non-grata, but hoovering around doing what they are supposed to, especially at the concessions booths.
Food is pricey 💸💸💸💸💸💸 like you'd expect.
Generally a super cool mega-movie structure. Plenty of relaxing open areas to mingle or simply get lost in the superluminal "backrooms" vibes. The "pop-out book" 📚 props are a nice touch, really let's you submerse yourself in the advertisements 🤩🤩
Definitely gives off some fun "Bioshock" meets "Cyberpunk" motifs.
For a Friday is was fairly empty 🫙, but we went in the morning 🌄 ish, so IDK 🤷🤔.
10/10 I would recommend for any fellow Seattlites looking for an "extra"...
