If I could give it Zero we would but in order to rate had to give at least a 1 star.
Let me start by stating our server was good, not his fault for all the upsets. My Husband and I enjoy fining dining establishments regularly and had high expectations of a restaurant with a AAA four diamond award, but this failed miserably. We frequent fining dining weekly like Byrd & Bladwin, Ruth's Chris, Flemings, Steinheiblers, Razzo and other locally and out of town establishments.
The first was the ambience. Not impressive and the loud noise and the door opening frequently to Catch 31 is ridiculous. The amount of money you are paying out to sit in the main dining room shouldn't have to encounter all the outside noise and the commotion of a fine dining establishment.
Second, is the seating is so close together there is no privacy and everyone next to your table can hear your conversations. At fine dining establishments you do not expect to be eating with complete strangers.
Third is the steaks were sub-par for what they are rated. The burnt crust taste just like they are BURNT. Cut around it and the meat was okay.
Last, which there is so much more we could write about is when we finally paid and were leaving noticed people waking from another area and there is the place we expected...beautiful tables overlooking the ocean and could hear the waves.
All we can say is if you are used to attending fining dining establishments, Do NOT waste your time or money on this place.
Sincerely,
Completely and Utterly...
Read moreWe visited Salacia for Valentine's Day this year...we were sadly disappointed from the start....
Valet was under staffed. Even with reservations and we still ended up waiting on a table. "Michael B" was our server (with no personality) took roughly 7-10 minutes before taking our drink order. When we made the reservations, no one mentioned that on Valentine's Day there is a limited menu too choose from. Timing between courses was entirely way too long, which made our guest have to rush through dinner to make a concert, they could not even have their dessert. There is suppose to be a dress code and yet there was a child in a hoodie. This is suppose to be a quite dining experience and there was a table sitting behind us that was extremely loud that only did it disturb our dinner but the table across from them. The good thing I can say is that we had a beautiful view of the beach, the food was good, but for the cost ($480 for 4) and the other issues we experienced we will return to Ruth Chris. I would not recommend this place to anyone, you will be sadly...
Read moreMost of all the menu is boring. Nothing I haven't seen before. The oysters were good for the appetizer but that was the only thing and they were raw so they kind of make themselves. Overall I've tasted everything on this menu (here and at other places-because you can find the same menu at many places with the same quality of cuts and seafood) and they don't make the best of any of it. If you're going to do classics you better at least do it perfectly.
It's loud with it's "soaring ceilings". We had a table of 6 and that clearly wasn't something they appreciate. 4 or less seems to be more their style otherwise you're crammed around a table and ours was right on top of the fireplace.
Service was not as attentive as I would have expected for this caliber of a venue. Wine glasses were not kept filled. I don't understand why it gets AAA 4 diamonds. I'm pretty sure Michelin wouldn't even rate it. Spend your money on something good somewhere else. This...
