I enjoyed some of the staff but the experience wasnt as we thought it would be. Immediately upon walking in I knew what I was in for. It was just a cheaper version, yet somehow pricier Putt Putt. We got to do Go Karts, Arcade, and Mini Golf. It cost us almost $70 for two people and we didnt enjoy a single activity. We started with minigolf and the whole coarse smelt of weed, something some of the employees are aware of. They also seem aware of the mosquito problem, at first it wasnt so bad but it got out of control with dozens of them following us and landing all over us while trying to putt, so we couldnt finish the coarse at all. Other groups could be heard exclaiming this problem too, since the coarse isnt very large and everyone can hear one another. We did arcade games next, something I was very excited about but there were about 8 out of the 12 games you could earn tickets from, most of them only giving you small amounts of tickets if you managed to do decent at them. Most of these games required you to throw or toss something, the others being standard or classic arcade games. The claw machines were particularly dissappointing because its like those cheap ones at Walmart where you are just wasting your arcade currency playing it. The claw is far too weak to pick up any of the prizes in the machine, which is very frustrating considering if you spend the minimum $10 to play, you likely will get a single or two bags of fun dip for the experience, if you decide to play the arcade games. The Go Karts were scary. Mine rattled each time I tried to turn a corner, which after the first time of experiencing that you kind of slow down with each turn. The bulkier ones we rode in also seemed like they didn't turn well, which made corners and other racers quite intimidating. I felt fhe coarse was quite scary, for being as curvy as it was. Not much time to speed up, since there were not longer roads (and no good time to use the 3 turbo boosts you have). Once again though, even here it seemed like the employees loved their jobs and they were very kind. The greeter at the front desk was a very likeable person. Recognized a person from highschool (not a friend) and it felt like they left their station to come to where we were, the person at front desk seemed rightfully frustrated that they took it over from them. 2 stars because the staff was, for the most part, friendly and helpful. Attractions/experience felt overpriced and small. Might be fun for small children, but I feel it would be cheaper to make the drive to an actual arcade or...
Read moreThis location is pretty good for what it offers. While I was here I did the VR, Mini Golf, and Go Karts. Overall, the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The VR was a decent experience once the game got going, though it did take almost as much time for them to set up as we got to play. The player’s equipment worked very well and was definitely up to date. The game selection is definitely good as well, with a variety of types for different sizes of groups and tastes in gameplay.
The mini golf was pretty standard, I have been to more interesting ones but have also seen much worse ones, this one is “par for the course“ in terms of its enjoyability and worth the money spent.
The Go Karts we’re probably the most underwhelming experience for me personally. This was because the track was too thin to safely pass opponents who were actually trying (using standard passing techniques found in other go kart places and general racing sports do not work on this track because it is so thin). Theoretically, the only way to pass a serious opponent on this track would be to break the rules (aka bumping them) which would not be safe nor be wise if you wanted to keep Go Karting here. Additionally, the one time I was able to attempt to pass because my opponent made a slight error, my opponent then cut me off and hit me almost spinning me out if it had not been for the guard rail, and staff did nothing about it. At the end of the day I understand this place is more family oriented so if your goal with the karting is to come with your family and have some fun then this would definitely work for you. However if you want to actually race and be competitive/serious, then I would recommend going elsewhere as the track is essentially designed to rig the race in favor of the order your karts start unless someone blatantly lets you pass.
Overall, for the type of location this is, it is definitely a good value and...
Read moreWe celebrated our 33rd Wedding Anniversary here! At 65 and 68 years of age, that may sound funny, but we have tried to find a similar place to celebrate most of our anniversaries. We came to Weatherford to 2 MD visits on that same day. We must Drive from 2 hours west to get there... but the type of specialists that we need are all at least 90 minutes away. When we entered Grand Adventure, we were greeted by 3 young and very friendly faces. We bought the $30 card and they told us where everything was. The first game we played was air hockey. Then we roamed around, looking for other things that we were familiar with. There are many games that we don't understand at all... but the younger generation would love those, this is as it should be. There were go carts and miniature golf outside that are cooled with misters and bowling indoors. We played together, as often as possible, and laughed as we haven't had the chance to laugh for far too long. By the time our card was empty, we were able to leave, knowing that we had enjoyed ourselves, as much as we had energy for. We both felt that Grand ADVENTURE, was less expensive than most other places with the same games offered. We want to thank Grand Adventure for a wonderful time and the friendliness of their staff. We will be back again, as soon...
