This KOA is probably the worst so far in our own experience. While it was close to the interstate, this advantage is also a disadvantage due to omnipresent road noise. That itself is only an annoyance. The worst part is the trailer park ambiance. The sites are way too close together. The sewer hookup was nowhere close to the electrical and water (which leaked). We had a rhino pipe (25ft) and it was not long enough, so we essentially could not use the port. Sites all are pull through for the most part. The sites, at least ours, was not level. They mix overnight sites with long-term, and the long-term trailers are not RVs but fit the worst stereotypes you probably think of when you hear "trailer park". There is no privacy, considering that you have to look at the mostly unkept long-term sites. Would have been nice to even erect a privacy fence/screen/anything. Shockingly, the price for this experience (we paid $31.50 with our KOA discount) is on par with really nice RV resorts. The staff were to be fair, just nothing but nice and attentive. They really were hospitable, which is my only lament in writing a scathing review. It is also offputting to see the actual RV/trailer storage cramming even more dense arrangements of old RVs and campers. For the money it was not worth it. Should have been $10-$12 for the privilege of getting water and electric, not the more than $30 we paid. We would have boondocked if we had to do it over. The only reason we stopped was in fear of the inclement weather on our...
Read moreFor me this was the park from "hell". I started writing out my review by long hand before posting a review. Half way through it was more than 8 pages. Since that is to long to post all I can say is stay away from there. This was our first stay at a KOA and our last. What made our experience so bad was a "guy" named Gary. He is insane and loves to intimidate women. I wasn't intimidated, believe that infuriated him even more because 30 to 40 minutes later he was back. This was all about the way I parked at the laundry. I subsequently saw others park there the same way with nothing ever said to them. He is a big bully. A staff person told my husband and myself that he is difficult to work with and she/he is leaving. Please read all reviews on this park. The only thing going for it is the trees that are not very well cared for. The sites are large rocks and VERY little green crunch grass that you are to stay off of or you will get a nasty note from none other than you know who ------good ole gary. He has no couth he just barks at evrryone. Hospitality is not in his blood therefore he needs to get out. Oh and by the way there is a laundry about 2 miles from the park called "Weatherford Washeria" that's where I finished doing the rest...
Read moreIF you are looking for a 1 night transit place to rest between locations then this KOA Journey is acceptable. The pictures are really not accurate. The dog park is very small (20 x 20) and really a mud pit. They didn't even cut the grass for 4 of the days we were there. They are adding on a group of sites but really showed no activity the full time we were there. We chose this as it is close to Ft Worth and had Food (walmart) fuel ( several gas stations) and a repair center close (if you need mechanical) but overall this is NOT a long term (week / month) place to stay. Many of the existing units are just plain junky with poor grass control and grounds maintenance. The bathrooms do NOT look like the pictures. The mens is painted a dirty whitw with cheap plastic tile by the sinks that is missing in areas. Ventilation is poor. Add to the overall apperance, we lost water WITH NO NOTICE for several hours as they scheduled some plumbing changes. They said they had no way to tell us ahead if time? How about walking around? As it started at 9 am with interruptions until past noon. This is not a shining star for the KOA group of...
