One star because we can't leave zero.
Pros: The AC worked well. We think the bedding was clean. We didn't get stabbed. Nothing was stolen that we could tell.
Cons: Roaches Bathroom door didn't close "Pet area" outside is nothing but rocks and dogs can't even walk on it to go to the bathroom.
We were on the way and about 20 minutes outside of Weatherford when we got a phone call while filling up for gas. The front desk said something was wrong with our reservation and was trying to go over details with me, again while we were on our way, instead of just waiting until we got there. I had to tell her that we were busy trying to make the trip up and would just talk about it when we got there.
We arrived, with my family, pets, and luggage in the car, and the front desk clerk says there is a problem with the reservation.
They double booked us with someone else. Then the clerk says that it will be more money. In any business, it's standard to fix a problem when you screw it up, without making it the customer's problem. They refused to do this.
The clerk proceeds to try and strong arm me, again family waiting in the car, to pay more money for their screw up. I asked her this three times "So you screwed up and you want us to pay more money?" and each time she said "Yes."
I then asked to see the manager. She stated the manager would not be in until 9-10 am the next day. I asked her to call the manager in. She then proceeded to tell me "You can go next door to the Quality Inn and try to find a cheaper room." I say again, my family is waiting in the car, on a three day weekend, stranded and she wants us to try to go next door and book a room for three days on the day of check in...
So, we pay the extra money and go to the room and get settled. I then contact Motel 6 on their Facebook page and get a prompt response to call a phone number. I call and speak to a very helpful gentleman who then calls our location to speak to the staff. He comes back on the line to tell me that the manager answered the phone. The manager...the one that wouldn't be in until 9-10 am the next morning?
The man on the phone said the manager would refund the difference for the mistake and I can go down to the desk now.
I go down and they say they'll refund at checkout. Then the manager proceeds to vaguely threaten us by reiterating the pet policy a few times and pointing at the pet policy sign.
When you take a trip and stay in a hotel outside of Dallas, you have to know that you are going to be leaving your pets in a kennel so you can go and do some activities. As long as they aren't barking and making a fuss, this is what their website said anyway.
So, we took that as a vague threat because he had to refund us the difference. I then woke up the next day, and drove 3 hours round trip to take the dogs back to our house to have a friend watch them at the last minute, so we wouldn't have to deal with being evicted in the middle of the night after coming back to Dallas.
Also, to the manager, the front desk gave us free Wi-Fi and said "Don't tell my manager because I'll get in trouble."
Needless to say, we aren't, on our own dime, staying at another Motel 6 again. Maybe we WILL go to the Quality...
Read moreThe front desk help lady was very nice. Both owners need to treat customers better, they were rude and on the arrogant side. I booked a room with 2 queen beds and was given 2 doubles. When I asked the female owner why did we get doubles, we expected and paid for queens she treated me like I didn't know the difference between the sizes and told me they were queens. I told her no, they were not, they were doubles. She asked me four times " what do you want to do about it?" To which i responded, "give me a room with queen beds". She kept insisting they were all queens and to go check, they all had queen sheeting on them. Upon checking, the sheets were queen and of course were too big. I told her if they are going to advertise queens, don't substitute doubles, that is false advertising. Finally, very reluctantly, she told the front desk worker to give me another room after hounding me about we better not have used the bathroom in the first room because it costs them money to go clean it. They made us go through the back entrance because we had our family pup with us. They would not allow us to walk our dog on any of their grass, only a small rocky area in the back. The male owner told me he would not give us a receipt until they personally checked the room upon checkout. The mattress was hard and we could feel the springs, one of the bedspreads had cigarette burns, the room had an unpleasant smell and the carpet had a couple rips and a stain. We were tired and had had a long day and decided last minute to stay in Weatherford so I booked through Motel 6 website. Normally I read reviews first. This time I didn't. Also, each time I book through motel 6 they never ask for the credi card, just my driver's license, they tell me the card shows in the booking on file. This place the man insisted I hand over the card to him. At checkout, the female asked me if I had booked through "expedie" (expedia) and i said no, i booked through their website. I have read some reviews saying third party bookings get the least favorable rooms. Perhaps that is why she was persistent on giving us the smaller room with the doubles? Next time we stay in Weatherford it will not...
Read moreHorrible horrible horrible DON'T EVEN BOTHER GOING HERE !! we stay at many many many motel 6 across the country and this one has taken the cake as the absolutely worst motel 6 in the country ! The front desk guy was the rudest man I have ever encountered in my life . We drove to Texas from Maine and had slept in our van the previous night and we're so tired when we got to Weatherford it was unimaginable!! We had stopped and got pizza for our grandson at the pizza place in town and were so excited to relax in our room which I had cancelled another room closer to Dallas to get the one in Weatherford. We finally got to the motel so I ran in to check in and the process was almost done when he asked how big my dogs were . I told him they were big , he slid my card and Id across the front desk and said " No I cancel your reservation, you're not welcome here we won't do it we don't want you and your dogs here " he was so rude about it it made me furious !!! So I went back out to the van and my grandson and wife who were waiting patiently were in shock that we didn't get the room because we have never had a problem EVER at any other motel 6 !!! So I got mad and went back in and told the guy he was a jerk! He stood up and starting swearing at me and THREATENING TO FIGHT ME !! Tell words this man used were so vulgar I can't even write them on here !! PLEASE I WARN YOU THESE PEOPLE HAVE NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS OR COMPASSION FOR PEOPLE THEY ARE MISERABLE SCUM THAT DON'T DESERVE TO BE IN THE HOSPITALITY BUSINESS !!!
We drove 10 minutes back towards Forth Worth and found another motel 6 at west freeway which was an absolute pleasure and the staff there was amazing!!
