I have personally had mixed reviews about how I feel about Anthropologie in the past but my birthday was coming up and when I thought about finding a little something new to wear for what would be a very rare night out, I immediately drove to Westport and went straight to Anthropologie. (My mixed feeling about the store in the past has come down to customer service. I have had amazing experiences shopping at Anthro when I’m traveling but the usual local one I used to live by (not the Westport store), I’ve had some very poor customer service experiences.)
But this review is about Anthropologie in Westport, CT. My experience was so incredible and I had such helpful sales people that I felt I really wanted to make sure I gave them a good review. If you haven’t visited this location, it’s immense! Like they have it all… full bridal salon, home store (not just the awesome kitchen stuff but the actual furniture also, a full petites section, shoe dept… yeah 4 maybe even 5 levels of just gorgeous things that you want one of everything. I’m no spring chicken so even admitting I was celebrating my birthday and getting something to wear was embarrassing but totally worth it as not just like one but a team of sales people were pulling items after I explained kind of what I was going for, look wise. To my surprise, they didn’t just bring the most expensive items, they brought what I described in many many forms and several of the pieces carefully selected were actually items that were on sale! I ended up with a much different version of what I was looking for that even surprised me as well as several other items that I couldn’t resist and were solely an early bday present to myself! Unmatched customer service and they are just so efficient when you need another size or anything.., impressive to say the least! Yup, I’ll be back to this...
Read moreHave always enjoyed shopping at this store for my wife and others. However, this week, has proven a sad case of really poor customer service. Over the weekend, I saw an item in the home furnishing department that looked like a perfect fit for our reading room. I came home, took the measurements and was fired up to order this as a gift. Because of work, I could not make it back to the store and called four separate times to buy the chair. Each time I was told someone would get back to me right away. They never did. Eventually, I got the manager on the line she explained: a) policy was to return phone calls in 24-48 hours b) items displayed on the store floor were not available at the store and had to be ordered c) average wait time for the chair to be shipped was four weeks. I spent a good half hour in the furniture room on Sunday, there was not a single display that informed shoppers of any of this. Despite telling every associate exactly my reason for calling, not one of them mentioned that what I wanted to do was not possible. They just told me someone would get back to me right away. After speaking with the manager, I tried to buy the item online. When I got to the checkout, I was told that my Christmas gift would arrive on April 7th. Additionally, I discovered that the chair was not available for in store pick up and the price of shipping increased the cost by almost 20%. As a general rule, if an item is not available in the store, don't put it on the floor. If it's not available for 3 months, don't put it in the store. And finally, it's always a good idea to let people know what the ACTUAL price is they'll be paying. In every interaction, the people were friendly here but the...
Read moreI am so disappointed with how Anthropologie handled my return. I never leave reviews but I was so upset after leaving the store today. I went there to return a dress and didn’t have the receipt. I told them I wanted to exchange for another dress but since i didn’t have the receipt they couldn’t do anything for me… I called customer service. Explained my situation and they told me they would credit me back after shipping the dress to them. I was going to ship the dress back when I found the receipt. I called customer service and they told me that I shouldn’t have a problem since I had the receipt even though it was past the 60 days. I asked them multiple times and the same answer was given to me. It shouldn’t matter as long as you have the receipt. I get to the store and spoke with Kelly and she was so quick to tell me I couldn’t return it. Then continued saying it’s past the date, the dress wasn’t being sold anymore, and she couldn’t sell it. I explained to her that I had just got off the phone with a supervisor but she was dismissive and told me she couldn’t help me. I called cooperate and explained my situation and they said it was under the stores manager discretion if she wanted to take it back and she said no we don’t do that here. The supervisor on the phone said I should just go ahead and send the dress back through mail and they would credit me. I was originally going to do this but since the supervisor said it wouldn’t be a problem I decided to go to the store. switching this dress has been a nightmare and I can see through the reviews the store will do anything not to...
