We stayed over Xmas weekend and honestly, it's the little things that made not give 5stars. We stayed on property which was nice and we had a 1st floor room which was also really nice and easy and close to the main door. Booking wasn't exactly clear or easy online and I got nervous at first. I've heard horror stories about staying off property and wanted to make sure we were staying at hotel Rome where the actual Waterpark was. Figured out when I called, no big deal. Check in was off property which was actually kind of nice because as soon as we got there we just got out of the car and went straight to out room and didn't have to worry about chasing excited kids around the lobby. Got in the room and it was a decent size room! But... no true storage area. Our things were somewhat scattered throughout the room the whole stay... which again, no big deal but would have been nice to have even a small dresser or table other then a shelf thing under the TV... but couldn't use it as a table because we used it as a storage area... disappointing, especially for how much dead space there was as well as money we spent, but again, no big deal. The beds were a bit small but were comfortable, the TV was very small and I wish there was some kind of guide page to know what the chanels were but again, no big deal, we spent most of our time out of the room anyway. Where I did get upset was when we opened the fridge... we did store food like lunch meat, milk (lactose free so almost $5/half gallon) , cheese, mayo... a few other things. I did notice that the temp was a little warm but it was also set to 1 out of 5.... thought maybe it's just set to the warmest setting. Left to the water park and came back ready to make sandwiches and realized we forgot bread, thought we could get some from the little store but they did not carry any food Iike that! Remember that when staying, you will not find old and ends there. We ended up getting McDonald's... went to sleep, woke up ready for cereal and come to find out..THE FRIDGE WAS UNPLUGED THE WHOLE TIME!!! We lost maybe $30 in food and ended up eating out again!! Which is fine... but there was nothing I could do at the point we were at. When on the bumper cars, 2 of the cars we rode on didn't work but we had to wait until our time stopped until we can get up and change, fine, it happens. I ended up sitting on the sidelines when we had a chance to ride again. My daughter got hit kind of hard and hit her teeth on the stering wheel.. the girl running it was very sweet but did not stop the ride right away. She ran over to around where she was and just started asking from a far if she was OK. My daughter was crying and holding her mouth saying no and finally after a min or so, she ran back over and to stop it but at this point I opened the gate and started looking at the controls trying to figure out where the emergency stop at so I can get her... I don't understand why she didn't stop it to begin with because my daughter was screaming and my other daughter started freaking out for her. She was OK for the most part but did hit it enough to start bleeding... no one came to check on her, which is fine, like I said shewas okay, I got her an icee but feel like it should have just been given to her... The rest of our trip was great! The Christmas lights were amazing. I just couldn't help thinking about these little things where I felt cheated or wronged... not enough to say it was a bad trip but I spent extra money or wasted money where I didnt need to or shouldn't of... not that I didn't come prepared but how was this fair?
This was our first time visiting Mt. Olympus but we visit the Dells every year. Other resorts we've stayed at have an area to rent games or movies which I wish this had as well but I didn't see anything saying they did but I also didn't ask. Might say again but better prepared knowing what to expect now... 1-check the fridge 2- they don't have odds and ends 3-movies/games 4- no...
Read moreI am so disappointed in my trip to Mt. Olympus today I can’t even keep track of the amount of issues I’ve run into. For starters, I was booked in the wrong room and immediately upon making my reservation I had to call and have them fix it to put me on the correct lodging that I selected. Today upon arrival I was first bothered by the lack of front desk in the main hotel and there further being no clear communication that you need to go 2 miles away to check in. We then spent time in the waterpark until around 4 waiting for our room to be ready. The pools were FREEZING to the point that you could not enjoy the water and the River of Troy in particular had literal garbage floating along in the current. At 4 we went to go to our room in the main hotel and while we were able to get into the building by scanning our key/wristband we couldn’t get into our room. When we called the help line we were scolded as if it was somehow our fault the keys weren’t working and then the lady hung up on us. I called back right after and was given such attitude yet again and then told to come back to the help desk 2 miles away. Since we had no other choice we did and I was once again given attitude when trying to express the situation and my frustration to the worker at the desk. The worker then gave me new wristbands and very harshly cut the other one off of my wrist which just felt unnecessary and rude. We then went all the back to Hotel Rome and the keys still wouldn’t work. We however didn’t want to waste the rest of the night so we went to the amusement park until 8, which was also hugely disappointing beginning with there being a literal lack of parking attendants monitoring who was entering the lot. While there I further witnessed several instances in which safety of guests on rides was overlooked/ignored. For instance on the Pegasus ride the workers did not even check to see that we were locked into our seats and instead said “make sure to lock your seats” which is concerning seeing as that is literally her job to ensure we are safely on the ride. On several go-kart rides as well there were children who should never have been able to drive by themselves behind the wheel. This was concerning for their safety but also for everyone else’s seeing as they crashed into others time and time again. The amount of bumping, use of phones while driving and again lack of height checks for younger kids was insane and despite the announcement at the start of each race saying such behavior would result in losing driving privileges that didn’t happen once. Then at Hades 360 we sat on the track waiting for the ride to begin for nearly 20 minutes while one patron berated 3 employees for denying her daughter the right to ride (the one time a height measurement was taken!). While this is not the employee’s fault for her bad behavior it was alarming to witness and also she simply should have been removed from the park seeing as she then started yelling at other patrons who were bothered and wanting her to leave so the ride could begin. She was even waiting at the end of the hill yelling at people after we had eventually enjoyed the ride and exited. How security was not called or involved is beyond me and again speaks to the lack of safety and care shown throughout my experience in the park today. After the amusement park closed we went back to the hotel to see if we could finally get into our room. Our wristbands finally worked but when we entered the room we found clumps of hair throughout the room (in/near the tub, on the counter by the sink, and even on bedding). It also smelt moist and sour in the room. This being the cherry on top our day at the "resort" we called it quits and are now driving home at 9pm. This has been such a let down and is not the trip we hoped for or paid to experience. To not be able to peacefully stay here or feel safe on rides has left a bad taste in my mouth to say the least and makes me want a refund...

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Mt. Olympus is a filthy, overpriced joke that preys on tourists and gives the bare minimum in return.
Let’s start with the park: it is NOT fat-friendly, despite what they don’t tell you. They don’t advertise that there are weight limits for double tube slides, but they’ll casually list a couple limits on other rides just to cover themselves. We got humiliated after waiting in line only to be turned away because they couldn’t bother to be transparent.
The pavement will absolutely shred your feet, bring water shoes or leave in pain. Go-karts? A few were okay, but others were literally smoking from the engine while still being used. Parts of the tracks had massive cracks and jarring bumps that slammed your body around. Little kids were ramming into everyone and staff did nothing, no rules, no control, just chaos.
Need water? Hope you like paying $4 per bottle. No free water stations anywhere in the park, which is just ridiculous in the heat of summer. And no, you can’t bring your own drinks, they want to bleed you dry.
Lockers? $30 to rent. Not a typo. Thirty dollars for a locker. For a family park, that’s absurd.
There’s no type of nurses station whatsoever, so if you get hurt you’re on your own
To top it off, there’s no Wi-Fi in the room, even though they advertise it online. False advertising at its finest.
Now the room. It was a budget room at $117 a night, which is already overpriced for what you get, but let me be clear: just because it’s a budget room doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be clean or maintained.
The SMELL hit us the second we walked in. It reeked of urine with no way to air it out. The bathroom door was absolutely disgusting, both sides covered in grime, stains, and who-knows-what. It looked like no one has cleaned it in years, and the trim was just as filthy. There was a bug in the room, and multiple long black hairs tangled in the supposedly clean shower towels, neither of us have that kind of hair. I have short, brown curly hair, and my girlfriend is blonde.
There was also a wad of tangled hair inside the “blanket.” Speaking of that blanket, it was more like a rag. It had fuzz, hair, was worn thin, frayed on all sides, and barely even counted as bedding.
Privacy? Nope. The bathroom window had no curtain, so anyone walking by outside could see you on the toilet. The shower had mold in several places. The light switch panel and surrounding wall by the sink had what looked like dried-up boogers or worse. The front door was dented and covered in shoe prints and dirt.
The AC worked, but the plastic grates were cracked and missing in several spots. The TV remote? Didn’t even have a back on it, just exposed batteries.
And to make things even more confusing, our room wasn’t where the map said it was. It was hidden behind another building, completely out of sight, and had us wandering around trying to figure out where to even go. The building was 30B but there was a bigger building first labeled as 30B and then the building we were in was a teeny tiny building with about 3-4 rooms on it unlike the 10-15 rooms that are on the bigger buildings everywhere else tucked in a small corner hidden away.
Everything about this place screams neglect. It’s not just a little dirty, it’s disgusting and borderline unsanitary. Mt. Olympus is more concerned with squeezing every last dollar out of you than providing even basic cleanliness or comfort. I don’t care how cheap it looks online, spend your money somewhere else. This was a miserable experience from start to finish and I will never be...
