Worst campground ever!! We’ve been camping here since 1994 and liked the previous 2 owners. The first year this owner bought it we came one time that year and customer service was horrible. We thought we would try again. Even worse. Campground is neglected and very unkept.
Reserved sites with another couple. We had to cancel the first night so I called a week in advance. They asked which site I said not sure since friends will pick site they wanted when they got there. Was told to come in when we got there and it would be ok. We get there and Becky said “ we can’t do anything just because you didn’t show up”. I told her I called the week before. Her horrible customer service said nothing they can do since we didn’t show up.
Went in a different day and mentioned my son may come up and asked where he should park. Again the horrible customer service of Becky seemed very put out and barked “we have the sites on the side”. Since a week night I asked if the site next to us was open for the night and he would move in the morning. In her customer service friendly tone said they need to keep the site open if someone comes in. (The entire campground is empty).
To top off our stay, a big 5th wheel pulled in and they needed to mow the spots (the entire campground should have been mowed). Rocko starts mowing quickly to get the site cleared and hits our vehicle window with a rock and shatters the window. My husband goes to the office and was told by Ashley “He’s been mowing for awhile”. Umm what does that have to do with our vehicle being hit by a rock? Needless to say he was angry. She comes to our site and goes to the office to get paperwork. Comes back and says they need our insurance information. If you admitted your fault why getting all of our insurance information, we should be asking for yours. She went back and forth so we called our insurance company who took the information down and said we were right they don’t need our information. My husband goes back up there and the wonderful Becky gives my husband attitude and says “the laws in WI are different than the laws of IL”. My husband threw out how our insurance company said they don’t need our information. She just looked down. Because there was no replacement window in the area, we had to leave a day early because we couldn’t be driving home in the rain they were forecasting. We asked about a refund for the one night due to their negligence and we were told by Ashley they can’t do that.
If you are looking for horrible customer service this is the place to go. If your looking for an unkept, unmowed campground this is the place to go. To the owner of this campground, you nailed it if you are looking to have a rude unprofessional person as the first person to represent...

This is becoming our go-to place in the Dells area. You're in the center of everything, affordable and you're somewhat in nature. Quiet, clean and well taken care of. Well managed. Between our last trip 3 months ago and now we're visible improvements too. We will be back! Rent a fullly furnished RV or bring your own or bring a tent or rent a cabin! This place will accommodate!
2024 Mid September Visit * (after labor day, no holiday weekend etc)
After changing hands and ownership the price is doubled. With that you would probably expect significant or very visible improvements which we didn't see.
*I can go all day long to say great things about this place but when you are charged twice as much than last summer I would like to see feel certain improvements for example the public bathrooms are the same. No towel hangers in RV showers. Yes you need to bring your own pillows pillowcases and sheets yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes but it would have been nice just to throw in a small complimentary bar soap in the bathroom. The coffee maker is probably the cheapest coffee maker you will find in a Walmart. Yes there is a great coffee shop down the road but when you pay twice as much as last year you want to see something a little bit improved.
Something very simple but you jump in the shower and there is no place to hang your towel is something that catches your eye right away that you would think people who charged a double from last year would think about certain improvements and pay attention to detail. I might be wrong but I did not notice anything other than picnic tables being painted and are we section move to a different location in the park that's pretty much it. One thing I am glad I didn't changed is the warm welcoming professional and friendly staff I noticed new faces of course but the customer service was as great as we have experienced in the past.
The RV park next to us didn't have a cold refrigerator a refrigerator was not going below 50° and she called the emergency number that was posted on the store door someone was there to help her and take care of her within maybe 10 minutes or so I do not know if the problem was solved with somebody you're very polite was there trying to help her out which was great.
We have spoken to some other visitors within the campgrounds some of them were old timers who has been here many times before they shared this sentiment. Up until this point this place was our number one go to place. For next summer we will look around a little bit more because we might be able to get more for our money if we're going to pay this much. Overall is a great place I was still recommend it but look around what you get...
Read moreSo we brought our kids here every year as they were growing up. (There were different owners then). Now our kids have kids and they wanted to keep the tradition going. Needless to say we stayed at Bonanza this past weekend (had 1 cabin and 3 campsites) and were very disappointed! There were a few things I could mention, but one of the big issues I had was the LOUD music that was being played by different groups of people in the campground. You know, it's nice to have a nice peaceful quiet time by the fire with the kids, right? well it must of been about 10:00 P.M. and there were two groups of people playing music so loud you could clearly hear and feel their music half way across the campground! and both groups were very close to our site. So I called the main number and the lady actually said to me "Is the music offensive to you"?!!! and it caught me off guard like 'what'?...and then she immediately said "they have the right to play their music", and I said as loud as they want?!! and she said "yes! quiet time isn't until 11:00 P.M." I told her I can't believe this!! so apparently there is a free for all before 11:00?!!! so I had to confront these groups myself putting myself at peril not knowing how they would react. This was just unbelievable to me. Maybe they are catering to large groups that want to party....(We did notice several groups of people). They (staff and some fellow campers) were SO disrespectful! needless to say we will try Sherwood Forest Campground next time which was recommended to us by a local business or maybe the KOA Campground. By the way! Good luck getting through to them when you call them, if you get through. They were rude to my Wife who is disabled, when she called with some simple general questions. The people at Bonanza really need a lesson in hospitality and kindness!....They just made our weekend not as fun as it should of been. This is the first time I have ever done a review like this, but they deserve this and need to make some changes! and if you notice nearly 50% of the reviews are not 5 star reviews, regardless of where I vacation, I expect 5 star service. IF YOU DON'T WANT TO RUN THIS PLACE LIKE IT SHOULD BE RUN! GET OUT OF THE BUSINESS AND LET SOMEONE ELSE OWN IT THAT CARES ABOUT GIVING PEOPLE A GREAT...
