We came here as a party of 8 and were grouped with a party of 4 who had made a reservation (totally fine and maybe even made the experience "better"). Up until actually entering into the game, the experience was fine. Wait time was only a few mins as we had to wait for the previous party to exit and return equipment. Once in the waiting room, there was a board in the corner of the room with the rules, but these were NOT mentioned at all by the guide. Once we chose our gun, he attached our head sensors and prepped the gun as needed. Once everyone had their equipment, he directed us towards the arena and told us only the following: "pink is on the right, purple is on the left." He did not give us any clear instructions such as where the respawn area is or what game mode we are playing. You might say that we should've just read the board, but the board was in the corner and went unnoticed by most of my party. Again, the guide did not go over any of these rules, or even at least tell us to read over it.
It seemed as if he assumed we had played laser tag before, which we have, but just pushing us into the arena without any kind of direction led to confusion in both my group, as well as the group that was playing with us. Once we were inside the arena, my team went towards the right side where there was a room. We assumed this was our base or respawn area. Very quickly after starting, members of both teams started getting eliminated. After this, we all met together in confusion, not sure of how to respawn or if the game is played in rounds of elimination, or some other thing that wasn't explained to us. We had to call the guide who then came in and showed us where each team's respawn points were. Once this was cleared up, we resumed playing and quickly noticed that the room was extremely dark and it was nearly impossible to see someone unless they wore bright clothing. You could not differentiate the two different colored headbands and there was no light on the sensors to show the location of a player. The entirety of our game was just shooting blind until someone walked into a spot where the light made it easy to see them. This made it so that each player walked away having multiple friendly fire hits.
We also experienced problems with our equipment. The head sensors had velcro on them and they would be attached to the head band. My sensors, as well as another one of my teammates had problems with the velcro not sticking and the sensors kept falling off. A member of the other team had a broken sensor which wouldn't register hits. We even asked him to stand still so we could shoot at his sensors and see if they were working. He ended the game having respawned only 5 times, compared to everyone having 15+. This was not a matter of him being better than everyone, the equipment was not functioning properly.
Seeing everyone else's review, I'm sure this is a good place to take your kids to, but we did not have such an experience. I would recommend you do NOT come here for laser tag and search for another place. If you are visiting the Dells, I recommend trying local spots as opposed to this one. I hate to have written this review, but I felt that it really...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe thought weād give this a try on our recent vacation to Wisconsin Dells. We drove to the location listed on the business and it looked shut down. However we called the number and to our surprise they had moved locations! We arrived at the new location and were absolutely in awe of the set up for the laser tag area!!! We played for an hour for $25 a person and had an absolute blast!!! That night and the next day it was all our sons could talk about so we ended up going back to play again. We hadnāt been to their other location or any other laser tag place before this but I can say they definitely set the bar of expectations high for any future laser tag adventures!! Highly recommend going to Laser Ops Compound just be sure to call ahead to set up a match/game time because with their new location still in the works they are doing by appointment. Met both the male and female who work there and they were both enthusiastic, kind and ready to listen to my boys (7,10) tell them all about their trip and brag about their stats after the game. 𤣠such a blast!!! Be sure to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHad great expectations for this place. I was tremendously let down. The guns were glitchy and the respawns were glitchy. My group probably spent a third of our game just waiting to respawn because all the respawn electronics were broken or glitchy. The sensors are placed on your head through the use of a headband and velcro. This is a terrible idea and leads to the sensors constantly falling off. Another thing was that the scopes on the guns kept dying and were honestly pretty bad. One of our games, someoneās gun was accidentally set to have 100 healthpoints with a one shot kill. It led for a bad experience. The outside maps would have been fun if the equipment worked properly, but the inside map was garbage. The walls can reflect the laser shots which lead to you constantly getting shot even when you are behind cover. Itās terrible. Overall, I do not recommend this place. It was a waste of money and I canāt comprehend how people could give this...
