It's definitely the worst $500 dinner I've ever had. I've been to restaurants with this same cooking style, and it was amazing. Not the case here. The only thing that even remotely saved the experience was our server Dimitar. He did the very best he could with the tools he was provided. Started this experience with the hostess.. We had made a reservation, she showed us to our table and politely asked if we could be seated in a booth instead. She then tells me that booths are reserved for customers who have made a reservation. I explained that we had made a reservation, but I was told that bc I didn't specify in my reservation that I wanted a booth that she couldn't move us. (Note: Nowhere in the reservation process does it state that you need to make these requests and the restaurant was fairly empty at the time). I asked her to check the availability, and with a very annoyed demeanor, she complied. After walking to the front myself, I found out that it is a server issue, not an availability issue. Working in restaurants myself for many years, I get it's annoying to lose a table... but the attitude isn't necessary. The Food: The spicy tuna cucumber bites were ok. Basic. Basically canned tuna on a slice of cucumber with spicy Thai chili sauce. The ribeye is extremely thin and comes to the table already on the rock (like everything else). Unless you like your steak well done, it's already overcooked and stuck to the rock. Scallops, same problem. Lobster tail, small. It's not horrible, but no "yum" factor either. Underwhelming. Pork chop, bland. No cooking instructions, so you just have to guess how long to cook it. Jumbo tiger shrimp arrived already overcooked on the rock and overseasoned with some kind of seasoning. Broccoli looked like someone chewed it up for me first and put it on the plate. And the Mac and cheese, horrible. 3 of us ordered it, and nobody ate it. Atmosphere is a good concept poorly executed. The best part is the cute glasses Margarita: sent back, but the other drinks were decent. Again, the glasses help. Overall, it is not worth the money and extremely...
Read moreI came here for a bachelorette party, the concept sounded really cool. We came in 2 separate cars since we used a taxi to get there. The first group got drinks at the bar, and we were charged a service fee for being a large group, ok, that's weird for drinks. When the rest of our group arrived we were seated promptly (we were still early to our reservation time). The floor was so slippery from all of the oil/smoke, I was relieved I didn't slip and fall. A woman and her trainee were working on our table. They were very nice, grabbed our drink and food orders. She was writing them down, and the trainee typing them in. It took over 20 minutes for our drinks to arrive, which was excessive for 2-3 mixed drinks, cans of white claw, and beer. Finally our food came out, and the only directions given were you should probably flip that now so it doesn't burn. I would have liked to be told how long i would cook my fish since I am new to this restaurant, and they asked if any of us had been there. Everyone gets their food but one person, we inquire, and then 20 minutes later her food comes out with a luke-warm rock that was not cooking her food. She requested a new rock and once again was waiting. I'll keep it short and say the issue was never communicated to the manager as we were told it was being taken care of, and was received rudely by management.
Food: I got the seafood trio, the Ahi tuna was great, the salmon and scallops was over seasoned, the tiger shrimp were just ok.
Other: when I went to the bathroom an employee was also in there, and it seemed like she was going to leave without washing her hands until I looked at her.
Service: nice people, but we wouldn't see them for 20-30...
Read moreThis was unfortunately the worst dining experience My fiancé and I have ever had. I wish I would’ve done my research before arriving here.
I was skeptical immediately upon arriving but we decided to give it a shot anyways. First thing we had at our table was the “brew house sampler” which consisted of frozen chicken tenders, fries, shrimp, mozzarella sticks and onion rings fresh out of the microwave for $12. It was terrible.. However we were in this far so we stayed hoping the steaks would be worth it.
This is where I feel like I had been robbed. When the low quality steaks arrive they come on a scolding hot rock and YOU cook it yourself with NO assistance, thermometer or anything for that matter besides a fork and a steak knife. Even though you are paying $40+ per plate.
When I asked the waiter, “how do I know when it is properly cooked to medium rare” he advised me to slice into it while it was cooking and check for doneness.. now I’m nothing more than a home cook but I do know that you are never supposed to cut into a steak until it is done cooking and has rested for the proper amount of time..
Once the steaks were done they were literally inedible.. this is a first for me.
They ended up refunding one of the steaks and the waiter was apologetic about my experience but my bill was still a whopping $70.. I’d be more than willing to pay double this amount for a quality meal, but this was just unacceptable and they really should be ashamed.
Do yourself a favor and go to Fields at the wilderness or another option. It’s incredible to me that this place is rated 4/5 stars. You will absolutely regret spending your hard earned...
