BEWARE when using Metis Spa!!!!!! Last night on the 25th December my wife and I received a 90 minute hot stone massage and 75 minute collagen facial. We had placed our belongings in a drawer behind the massage tables and I have travelled extensively globally and had massages all over the world but have never had someone be so noisy with the rocks or equipment preparing for A hotstone massage. At the time i found it odd and I understand why now...while we were face down someone Was constantly coming behind me...ie 2 people and the sounds were to mask opening the drawer and opening my bag to take money. When the massage finished I knew instantly we had been robbed as I had just taken the money out at the atm/bank before the spa and checked it outside before entering the establishment. We brought it to the attention of the manager who tried to deny it...however I'm no fool...I know exactly what happened. I have multiple companies in Australia and nz with over 5 million USD last year in net profits so Money is not an issue and I would not bring such serious allegations unless 100 percent certain of what had occurred. On top of this after being robbed of 3 million dong we are still paying lol... The moral of the story.. Avoid metis spa at all costs!!! This is the first time I have ever used an external spa not connected to 5 star accommodation and what a terrible experience. The Metis Spa is connected to a 3 star hotel...we only used it as were close by at the time. Do yourself a favour and dont visit this spa under any circumstances not unless you want to risk being robbed while having a massage. They saw we had multiple designer clothes on and probably figured we would not miss the money however as I had just checked my bag before entering and just took the money out at the atm i knew they had taken our money and it all made sense when taking into account the very loud rock sounds...
Read moreI went here from the introduction of my Hanoi colleague, saying: one of the best spas in Hanoi
Metis ís a compact and cozy spa, located on the 1st floor of a hotel building. you’re warmly welcomed by the friendly receptionists of both the hotel and the spa. I highly recommend consulting the spa's receptionist SUN if you’re unsure which service suits you best. The price differences aren’t significant, but choosing the wrong treatment might mean missing out on the best experience.
My therapist was amazing, her long experience allowed her to understand exactly what I needed, applying just the right pressure to leave me in the best state post-treatment. Although the price already includes a service charge, I think a small tip for the therapist would be a nice gesture of appreciation (though, of course, it’s optional).
A few drawbacks: The room, towels, and pillows had a slight damp smell. I don’t think they were unclean, but perhaps Hanoi’s humidity caused it, especially noticeable when lying face down. I wish they had an essential oil diffuser to improve the ambiance. During the session, the room was very quiet, which surprised me since most spas play soft Zen music. This is personal preference, but music helps enhance relaxation and masks outside noises (like footsteps or the rustling of spa tools).

Read moreI HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND, although even without the 20% discount, they offer affordable spa prices in the area.
I got the hot stone massage. The masseuse from the start was noisy, rough and clumsy which did not create a nice and relaxing environment. After communicating on paper at check in and again face to face of sensitive areas due to muscles tightness, she was reckless and massaged really hard and rigorously, missing all of the focal points. I repeatedly reminded her to be careful and to calm down which lasted for 30 secs before she again did the same. Finally, when wiping the oil off, she was so rough that it felt like I was getting sandpapered.
I left Metis Spa worse than when I came in. Due to the lack of technique and pressure, my left eye became swollen and even after 2 days had passed, the back of my head still feels bruised from the rough handling.
I wished I had followed my instincts and left the place/asked for a change of masseuse within the first 10minutes of...
