I rarely leave negative reviews, but our experience at D Spot Niagara Falls was frustrating and disappointing. We placed a take-out dessert order and were initially told it would take around five minutes. That seemed reasonable until we ended up waiting 45 minutes with no real updates or apologies from staff.
What made it worse was that we were explicitly ordering take-out, but were told to sit and wait inside. Fine, we did. But when we finally got our order, we noticed we were charged a hospitality fee, despite the fact that we didn’t dine in at all. We were just given menus and told to wait.
The drinks were overpriced, but tasted watered down and the cups were half empty. The desserts themselves were okay, but definitely not worth the wait, the miscommunication, or the extra charges.
We were reassured every time we asked for an update that it would not take long and if anything five or so more minutes. If you're going to have long wait times for orders, just be upfront about it.
Charging hospitality for take-out in and of itself is not acceptable. Not letting the customer know that you will be charging automatic hospitality is wholly disrespectful. On top of all that having the card machine prompt the customer for a tip is robbery. I ended up tipping on top of the hospitality charge because I was not notified that it was being added to my bill. All of that for a TAKE-OUT order.
Additionally people that were dining in that came long after us were being served quickly and with priority. If you do not have the capacity for an order like this then let the customer know immediately.
Wouldn’t recommend this location based on our visit. It was extremely overpriced for a...
Read moreIt all started with a sugar craving – the kind that hits you like a rogue wave at 2 AM. So, naturally, I found myself at D Spot Dessert Cafe, the beacon of late-night sweetness. The place was buzzing, a chaotic symphony of sugar-fueled chatter and the clatter of spoons against glass. I ordered the "Chocolate Avalanche," because, why not? It was described as a chocolate lover's dream, a mountain of brownies, ice cream, and fudge. Sounded safe enough, right?
Wrong. So, so wrong.
The "Avalanche" arrived looking less like a dessert and more like a geological disaster. The brownies were stale, the ice cream was melting faster than my patience, and the fudge had the consistency of tar. I took a bite, and it was like a sugar bomb exploded in my mouth, but instead of pure bliss, it was a strange mix of bitter, artificial, and vaguely metallic. I tried to flag down a server, but they were all lost in the dessert-induced chaos. Tables were sticky, kids were crying, and someone was attempting to juggle profiteroles. It was like a scene from a dessert-themed apocalypse.
I managed to choke down a few more bites, hoping it would get better, but it only got worse. My stomach started to churn, my head began to spin, and I swear I could hear the brownies mocking me. I decided to cut my losses and make a run for it, but as I stood up, I tripped over a rogue puddle of melted ice cream and landed face-first into a table of unsuspecting customers. It was a sticky, humiliating mess. I scrambled to my feet, mumbled an apology, and bolted out of there, vowing to stick to fruit for the rest of my life. D Spot? More like D Spot...
Read moreMajority of the food was pretty good! But some of the prices were somewhat unreasonable. The wings contains 7 with some fries for 18.99 not with taxes. Or 3 chicken tenders w fries for 14 dollars. Besides that the food we order are very filling! The Classic Cheese was juicy and the fries nice, light and crunchy. The loaded fries was a tad bit spicy it contained gravy which made the loaded fries very filling so I recommend sharing this or if you want to eat it solo come with an unfilled stomach! The pizza wasn’t spicy or cheesy, enough which was disappointing but other wise was good! This pizza is for one person serving btw! I feel like majority is one person serving besides the loaded fries. I also got the Nutty Oasis Smoothie it wasn’t nutty just had a strong taste of banana and avocado, I was hoping to taste the nuttiness that they were saying. (Dairy Free btw!) The place is filled with many pastel decorations and I love the lights idea! (As shown in the review) overall pretty decent restaurant and...
