The annual opening of Ukee Scoops is eagerly anticipated & a clear sign the sunny season has arrived. This wonderful ice-cream, gelato & sorbet place sells far more than delicious ice treats, offering a wide range of eats & drinks, including very tasty crepes. It opens later in May & is in fully swing in the summer months when school is out & the inflow of visitors to the ocean village of Ucluelet is noticeable. Ukee Scoops is centrally located on Ukee’s — as locals affectionately refer to the west coast ocean village — main commercial road of Peninsula. And when Ukee Scoops is open people licking away on their coned treats on this main road is a common sight. Ukee Scoops opens @12 pm & closes at 8.pm. Its owner, Carolyn, is charming & helpful, as are her staff. I have been in twice already since it opened late May. On the most recent occasion it was to buy charming ice-cream image designed coupons to give to my two grandchildren on the first day of summer after the June 20 summer solstice. It was a perfect gift to mark the change of season, as well as the last day of school, enabling them to go in whenever they liked to get a pre-purchased scoop without having to worry about where & how to carry coinage etc. The small, lightly-laminated paper coupon can easily be tucked into a pocket to use at Ukee Scoops when the desire for an iced treat strikes. Stopped at Ukee Scoops for breakfast. Wouldn't think of an ice cream shop for breakfast but they have crepes on their menu and whoa man are they ever good. I had the Westcoaster which has smoked salmon, cream cheese, dill and spinach. So good, very fresh and filling. My wife had the ham and cheese which was good as well. The batter for the crepes is amazing, we also shared the Nutella crepe which was just as tasty as the savory ones we had. Highly recommend for breakfast! Would love to try their ice cream on my next visit to Ukee!

It starts with the coffee. Full bodied and flavourful...from a roaster down the road. The owner/manager happens to be a great person. Ice cream, crepes and baking are all fresh. It's right next to The Pacific Rim Motel on the main drag. Don't let the humble exterior fool you

If you’re in Ucluelet, Ukee Scoops is a must-stop treat! This place hits the sweet spot (literally) with its generous portions, awesome variety of ice cream flavours, and super friendly staff. Whether you’re grabbing a classic cone or going all in with a sundae, everything is fresh, tasty, and perfect after a beach day or a stroll along the Wild Pacific Trail.

They’ve also got great vegan and dairy-free options, which was a huge plus for our group. The vibe is fun and laid-back, just like the rest of Ukee. Definitely one of those small-town gems that makes your trip memorable. Can’t...
