I stayed here for a week. It was a really decent location and great value. ||||The worst part about the room was that it was freezing cold all of the time. I would turn the AC off and it would kick back on the minute my key card was taken out. I was so cold at one point I started running the shower for steam heat. The room otherwise was perfect for a solo traveler (very tiny) but had one of the comfiest twin beds ever. ||||The most memorable thing about my stay however wasn't that I was always wrapped in four layers while in my room, it was the mystery of the missing tampons. ||Ladies who have visited China can relate to just how hard it is to track down tampons at stores there. Apparently most women use pads. After nearly four hours of running around to stores at all different MTR stops, I finally found a box and happily took them back to my hotel room. I put the new full box on top of the toilet before leaving the next day. When I came back to my room later that night it had been cleaned (was freezing cold again) and my brand new box of tampons was missing. I looked all over the room thinking maybe they had moved them. Nope. Gone. Normally i'd overlook something like this, but I was not about to spend another half day adventure trying to find more. I had worked hard for those suckers and wanted them back. So I called down to the front desk to say-hey my brand new box of tampons is gone--WTF. The desk said they would check with housekeeping. An hour later there's a knock on my door and the desk guy is standing there with the housekeeper and my box of tampons. To this day I have no idea if she had thrown them away or stolen them. Total weirdness. ||||When I checked out of the hotel the desk was nice enough to tell me about the free airport bus that left from the hotel across the street so I was able to hop on that to get home. Overall aside from the temperature issue and random housekeeping botch this was a fine place to stay. ||There's a hella sketchy looking noodle place across the street-don't let it scare you...
Read moreI wouldn't recommend this place even though it is not horrible.
Pros: it is well located, next to Nathan road and the ferry to central. It is clean and the bathroom is spacious. The rooms are decent for the price (for HK).
Cons: the staff doesn't seem to care much. We booked a queen bed room and ended up with two beds, asked for a new room but didn't obtain any help, apologies or anything. Also, our room got flooded and we had to call the website we booked the room on to pressure them to change room. The rooms we got (I guess the cheapest?) are small but this is normal for HK. But the bathroom is badly conceived : there is no real wall closing the toilets and the shower and the water can get out of the shower is the evacuation doesn't work properly (which happened to us, flooding our stuff). Also terrible is the ventilation system. We were there in winter so we didn't need AC. When we removed the card we use to turn on electricity on the room, the AC was automatically turning on at full blast (I never saw that anywhere else, it is usually the other way around!). Also, it was not possible to set the system to hearing or any temperature higher than 20 C. We were so cold we had to turn off the system when we were in the room. But there is no air when it is off and then smell got bad in the rooms we got (a very typical smell in Asia of dry fish, not enjoyable).
Conclusion : we had a bad experience there and the staff was lacking involvement and understanding. The rooms were OK for HK, but for the price we expected better (we stayed in better hotels cheaper in that city) especially with the problems we had (our room got flooded when we took a shower, the ventilation system was not working properly and there was a...
Read moreDO NOT STAY HERE! I’m not a person usually leave bad reviews but his is beyond my tolerance, I feel like I have the responsibility to let you guys know the truth. This hotel is nothing like the photos and discriptions in their and most of the booking website. We booked a superior double room, when we walked out of the elevator door to the floor, we thought we went to the wrong floor because there are random things piled in front of the room doors: cleaning stuff, equipments, storage bins, cargo boxes, etc.and seems like they been storing there for long time. THIS IS LIKE A HOSTEL(or even worse)!!! We the. Went back down to the lobby to switch to a different room, the staff told us there is only one more room left. When we walked into the new room, we see there are MOLD and MILDEW all over the walls and door frames, huge dust balls at visible areas, and the space does not seem like it was originally intended to be a guest room. The restroom partitions lands in middle of a big window, and there are wired smells coming out from the drains. There are no single outlets that fits apple charger, we had to get an adaptor for our phones... I can go on much more but I think I made my point... I don’t know what kind of rooms other people who gave good reviews stayed in, I experienced two rooms and both of then are not what they shown on...
