Casa Haydee Monteverde — Hotel in Monteverde

I frequently travel to Monteverde and I have stayed at many different options that are there. I now simply book my stay at Casa Haydee in advance because it offers me the best of what I need. The room that s provided is impeccably maintained, has great black out curtains and is tastefully finished with details that I appreciate. The bedding is cozy for those chilly nights. I am always given a better breakfast than anywhere I could eat out. I brought friends once and we ordered the BBQ and sat around talking to Kenneth for hours about the history of Monteverde while he fed us his famous chicharrones. I have been able to book any tour or adventure I wanted to go on through the help of Kenneth without any issues or extra stress and for the best price. The recent modifications they have made to the outdoor passageway protects me from the rain to get my breakfast and the number of plants, birds and tranquility that is provided right in the center of town is truly incredible for me to have peace while being able to walk where I want to go once I get there. The timeline just reminded me of the wonderful places I've visited. One definetely is Casa Haydee. And fortunately it's never too late to leave something good behind and express my gratitude.

I stayed for 2 nights in November 2021. The room is very clean, cozy and authentic. The beds are comfortable and provide warmth during windy Monteverde nights. The TV is ready to connect although I haven't used. Instead I enjoyed the calming garden view and birds outside. There are nice places in walking distance, for others you might need a car.

The service is caring and homelike. La señora Haydee delighted me with a little welcome... homemade bread & fruit jelly. So she prepared the delicious breakfast. While Kenneth provided me with all needed info and bookings (tours, restaurants, etc.) to make most out of my stay. All family members I had the chance to meet were super kind & helpful. Simply an amazing family business.

And you were right, the one at the fire place remains as my most genuine Costa Rican experience. Thanks to all! Really a lovely...

I really had a wonderful time staying there for three nights. There are shops and restaurant nearby and it was very convenient. 15 minutes walk from the centre of the village but it was much better as I was able to walk to the beautiful nature reserve in foot and enjoy my explorations. From the centre, the transfers were necessary each time which was a lot more inconvenient. The property has bird feeders attracting different types of humming birds as well as other native species. If you are a birdwatcher, I think the best place to stay. You can spend hours at the garden watching birds coming in and out. They come close by amazing photo shooting opportunities. The host is very kind and welcoming. They don not only care about their property but also surrounding nature which I admire so much.

This is like staying a spacious room at the lovely house of a warm local. If I ever come back to Monteverde again, I would repeat...
