The Pros:||||Large room with nice river view. Overall cleaning is good. It is close to the town, but keep in mind that there are stairs and an uphill walk, but this was not a big deal for us.||||The Cons:||||Customer care have to improve. We had a long walk through cobblestone streets, with rolling suitcases, from the bus station AN, the closest bus station to the apartments. It was late in the night and there were no taxis. We would have appreciated if owner have told us this in advance and suggested alternatives. ||||After that long walk in the end of an exhaustive travelling day, we were very tired, but were not allowed to rest yet. Instead, owner demanded payment in check-in and engaged on a 40 minute "conversation" in very poor english (yes, worse than mine), when asked about our jobs, the lenght of the travel and took our passports for "bureaucracy".||||While it happened with smiles in the face and part of the conversation was small talk, we feel that we did not need that at that time, late in the night (about 11 PM), in the end of a long travel day, with payment in advance. Owner, while very talkative (using lots of mimics and german words) lacks trust, or just empathy, which thankfully we did not experience in the other 9 hotels were we've stayed. ||||Also, keep in mind that communication is very difficult if you do not speak czech or german. Owner barely speaks english and he seems to be proud of it, but he uses a lot of mimics in conversation.||||We were given a city map, but no indications about supermarkets and restaurants, which we had to find by ourselves. Breakfast is not worth it's cost. Wi-fi signal is very weak. Minibar is inside the bathroom, which we did not find very hygienic. Heater...

The sight and sound of the nearby river provide a soothing backdrop for a pleasant stay. The owner is a gregarious Austrian who loves to talk to his visitors though his English is limited. Rooms are spacious and clean, with great views of the river and a well equipped kitchen. Just down the hill within easy walking distance are a good sized market, a restaurant, a bakery, and a convenience store. The heart of the city is a five minute hike away, up a cobblestone hill and down a flight of stairs. This may be a concern if arriving by bus. For those traveling by car, there is limited...
Read moreWe only stayed 2 nights in the apartment and found the host to be informative and efficient. The apartment was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for our stay and more. The kitchen had all necessary appliances and cooking utensils (including a small freezer in the mini fridge). There is a small supermarket not far away (about 200m further down the road).||If you are travelling with a baby you need to supply your own gear (cot, high chair etc) as they do not have these facilities.||Catch a taxi to/from the train station, it is too far with bags over cobble stones and uphill. The location is fine for visiting the town, you can...
