Hanoi Memories — Restaurant in okres Český Krumlov

I came to this place with my 10 year old son right before closing time late at night .The staff still served us and the food was great. The staff was all Asian but spoke English well. In a rush as I departed I left my expensive bag with my wallet at the table with 500 us dollars in it. When I woke up in the am and noticed it was missing I rushed back to this restaurant. It didnt open until 11so I jus waited there in desperation. When it opened the staff greeted me and to my upmost relief and had it behind the counter. I tried to give them money and they refused and jus told me to come back and enjoy more of their good food. Places like this make me realize good people still exist in our world. My bag was Louis Vaton with a Louis wallet full of money and credit cards. I know if I was home in USA it would've been gone. I will eat at this restaurant everything I visit this beautiful...

Having eaten in tons of Asian restaurants I had high hopes for this place but unfortunately, it was disappointing.

First there was prawn shell in the vegetarian dish which we specifically asked not to include any fish or fish product. The kitchen obviously did not understand what vegetarian meant. The lovely lady apologized but did not offer to make a new one or take any money off the bill even though she could see the food was left uneaten.

The Hanoi chicken wings which were supposed to be in an orange sauce were just deep fried wings with no sauce or flavour. The vegetarian dumplings were store bought and the Pho was sweet. I don’t think I have ever had a sweet Pho in my life until now. Perhaps adjusted to the local taste and I ate it with a lot of hot sauce to cover the sweetness.

Big portions but way too expensive and not fresh. The duck breast was probably cooked days before and just quickly fried to heat up. The Vietnamese soup was tasteless. The salmon was crispy fried and served with lots of mayo, my (asian) girlfriend actually threw up from the heavy, fatty taste and could not eat that. Definitely not worth it, even the pilsner urquell on tap tasted bad, probably old and expired. The waiter's nails were not clean!!! I get that this is not top season but this was below all expectations. You can eat much better, freshly made food for half the price...
