What is - without doubt - the best feature of this place is location, location, location. The location is perfect, right in old town centre. Our room #3 was spaceous, comfortable and clean (one exception). At night it is surprisingly quiet and we slept very well. Breakfast is included, complete and very good.||||But... we had a bad start. When asking the landlord (at restaurant Mastal) how to get there by car (for luggage), he was plainly rude and unfriendly and I realised that we had met the Czech version of Basil Fawlty. The other staff tried to help but didn't speak English or German well enough.||According to the folder, our room had no wifi but only cabled internet. Who for goodness sake has cable internet on his mobile? Folder: "Cable is in the room in a conspicuous place". Why not just say where it is, because I couldn't find it. Maybe the folder was outdated, because I did detect a wifi network carrying the accomodation's name. When I asked staff, they didn't know and Basil the landlord didn't care to get involved. Mr Landlord, please try to learn what customer courtesy is! I know that you are extremely busy, but it is us customers who pay in fact your bills and profits. A bit of friendliness doesn't cost you anything and yet makes a big difference.||Big minus: windows on our rooms did not open to fresh outside air but to inside corridor instead. Shower cabin had black mould in its sealings. One of the two single beds had its bedside against the wall, a bit uncomfortable to get in/out.||In the entrance hall (the 'dungeon' according to another reviewer) was the smell of fermenting household refuse.||This place definitely needs more attention to fully release the potential it surely has. I doubt that this will happen, because it is in high demand due to its location and the landlord is too busy running the restaurant. This is sad, because it is in fact a beautiful place at a perfect location.||All in all, I am not sure whether I will recommend this place to...
Read moreWe booked through booking.com what was described as a 2 bedroom apartment with a lounge/kitchen, bathroom and a view to the castle. On arrival the restaurant staff were very friendly but clearly did not have our booking so called somebody. We were then given the key and went to the apartment which was in fact a one bedroom aprtment with a sofabed in the kitchen/lounge. We reurned to the restaurant (acting as reception), where the staff called someone again and gave the phone to me. Obviously this is a recurring problem. I explained the problem that we needed two bedrooms. I waasked why when we were only 2 people. I said we were not a couple. The answer I received shocked me as I was told if I didn't like it to go away. In my 25 years in tourism and customer service I have NEVER been treated so disrespectfully. A small point but there was absolutely no view of the castle either. Needless to say I decided not to stay there and had an extremely comfortable stay at Pension...
||||Jose...
