Pyramids Gate Hotel — Hotel in Giza

Only stay here if you want to see pyramid only as everything else is at least 40 to 45 minutes drive there was 6 of us tried uber but would not come kept cancelling so had to order taxi from the hotel the prices were insane they only talk in dollars. Now the rooms every time you had a shower bathroom floor would flood and shower with clog up rooms were ok with everything kettle tv hair dryer iron on request would provide you with plenty of towels and other amenities Staff were very helpful and pleasant Abdul and Osam spoke good English and tried to help as much as possible 😀 The owner was nice but at the same time was a money making machine talking only in dollars The best part was the rooftop view we're you sat and had breakfast again breakfast was nice. There are no places to eat here except KFC and Pizza Hunt but they we're 2 in 1 and small otherwise there Local restaurant everything was a 45 minute drive away. It was a pleasant stay but very expensive on travel and the excursions like l keep saying every one talked in dollars not there own currency every one expected a tip . If l knew all this l would have stayed in Cario we're everything was accessible and come to see the pyramid as a day trip only Oh and l order taxi to take us from Airport to hotel through the hotel taxi driver took us to wrong hotel considering l had booked taxi through hotel. I am a bit confused with the reviews of that hotel has. I stayed with a friend for one night and besides the view to the pyramids, we couldn’t see something positive. It was 30th June, the staff really didn’t seem prepared to have any guests, the young men were not able to communicate or even say hi when they crossed us in the hotel, it might be shyness, I don’t know. Only one of the men spoke English and was helpful, and trying to accommodate our needs. It was 40 degrees in the room when we arrived, the mini bar didn’t work, the shower was clogged and all the bathroom got flooded. The location was good for the pyramids view, but we didn’t see anything else close by, so we didn’t leave the hotel. The “restaurant” took 50’ or more to prepare a chicken grilled with rice, that was served almost cold. Only water and Pepsi were available. Positive thing: they brought us an other order more expensive out of a mistake, but we were not charged any extra. It might be due to the low season, but we didn’t enjoy the stay. Nice hotels with mostly Egyptians students running it...very attentive service, they will make sure you have everything you need, and with a smile. We arrived very late for check in at 2.30 am, but the young lad at the reception was waiting for us, and he carried our very heavy suitcase3 floors up the stairs. They also organise tours at a fair price, we had a private tour of the pyramids (ghiza, sakkhara, memphis) with lunch included, and english speaking guide Mohamed, and it was good. The rooms are clean, bed are a bit tough but we got used to it. Bathroom could use a shelf to put our stuff. But the main thing is that you have a great view of the pyramids from the rooftop restaurant, where you can enjoy them with their Egyptian breakfast every morning (which is plentiful too).
