This was the 1st time we've been back to Paris in a few years. I was on business, and my better half was along for the relax.|Check-in was ok, although we usually pay the city tax at check-out, but we got asked at check-in.|The street the hotel is on is cycle and pedestrian only, but its only approx. 20m (65 ft) from either road access so as long as you can manage your cases, not too bad.||We had room 101, but the bathroom door was misaligned, so we moved to 207, same class, with a better bathroom, but without an entrance hall, so less suitcase space. Personally we would go for a better bathroom every time.||The rooms are well appointed and you can tell they are new coz they are still undamaged by any wear'n'tear. They are not large, but comfortable (Superior room) but that's Paris, and for 2 persons and 1x large or 2x small suitcases enough space. Any more and you may struggle.||As I travel most weeks, the mattress is important for me. Grand Coeur Latin has done a great job here, as the mattresses are in that Goldilocks zone, not hard, neither soft,. Clearly some money spent on this, kodos Grand Coeur!||We did not use the pool area, which I would imagine is a big draw for a lot of people, but we found the location great.||We have always stayed near Opera, but the Latin quarter lends itself well to walks to the shopping area of St Germain Des Pres and Notre-Dame is an easy 12-15 walk with the Metro of Odeon a 6-8 mins.||There is the wonderful park, Jardin Du Luxembourg around the corner, and cafe's like Laduree facing the park and street.||Now the not-so-grand...||Some of staff find it acceptable to have loud conversations across communal areas of the hotel. My wife had our 'Do Not Disturb' sign on the door, and housekeeping staff had a 10min argument in the hallway on our floor. Also staff member came into the room unannounced and without knocking for no reason we could ascertain.|Some service and behavior protocols are in order I think.||Generally the breakfast is good, but don't asked for an Omelet, as I got 3 eggs, unmixed and fried. Coffee is from a machine, not 'handmade' as is my preference.|Dinner is not available, but again, your in Paris, so make a beeline for one of the many thousands of fantastic restaurants.||Back to the Positives..||On the plus side, a very popular Ice-cream and sweets shop is less that a stones-throw.|'Aux Pres', in St Germain-Des-Pres is VERY good, and a lovely 15min stroll past the park and grand Government buildings. The cheese burger (I'm not kidding) is something else!||Parking is at the Indigo Pantheon parking which is a 4min walk for the font door and 45 Euros of 24 hrs.||I would stay here again, and if the management saw to the issues mentioned, then the Grand Coeur would be...
Read moreExceptionally clean, chic and very well-appointed family-friendly hotel. I travel to Paris at least 1x/year and this hotel cleanliness and style was as high as many 5 star hotels we've stayed in. This visit included our two tween daughters and the junior suite was perfect for our family of four. Our two daughters had an attached, yet separate room from me and my husband. We all shared a bathroom and double vanity. Great thing is the toilet was separate from the double vanity with stand-up shower. ..this gave lots more room and space than other hotels we've stayed at in Paris. The location is excellent and within easy walking distance to so many historic and fashionable sites and the best place in the city is just next door for coffee (French Theory). The breakfast was substantial with numerous options and extremely fresh, tasty and beautifully laid out. Warm items varied from scrambled eggs with chive and cheese to potato pancakes or regular pancakes, several different kinds of croissants, mini French baguettes, fresh Brie and manchego cheeses, different hams/prosciuttos and yogurts, fresh seasonal fruits, jams, coffees and juices. The waitstaff of the restaurant was EXCELLENT including a lovely lady from Sri Lanka and her incredibly kind and hospitable manager. They always went out of their way to make our daughters feel special and always had kind words and smiles for our family. The swimming pool, hamam and spa are the cherry on top of this amazing hotel. The pool is chic, extremely clean, stylish and a relaxing place to enjoy the day after a long day of walking and sightseeing. The steam room is small, and the pool is made for laps and best for children who know how to swim. It's heated and very relaxing. I've already told several friends about this hotel and can't wait to come back again...
Read moreMy wife and I spent a week at this hotel, and we loved just about every minute. Our twin room was plenty comfortable, the entire hotel is impeccably clean and elegantly decorated. The bar in particular is fabulous, and the bartender friendly. The pool and steam room were relaxing, and a great reward for a day of sightseeing. With the exception of neighbors who allowed their doors to slam shut (perhaps a maintenance issue, our door closed with only a slight click), this is an exceedingly quiet hotel.||The breakfast was typical of better Parisian hotels, but well maintained and worth the price, IMO. Every staff member we encountered was pleasant, helpful, and patient with my very poor language skills. The few things that weren't right were quickly addressed: the TV's internet connection was inoperable, and the gentleman sent to fix it was genial and competent. We encountered him several other times during our stay -- he recognized us, always greeted us with a smile, and asked if everything was still working. I wish I had caught his name so I could call him out specifically.| |If you're a Left Bank person, the location can't be beat -- close to everything this side of Paris has to offer. Rue Cujas is currently (Oct 2025) being dug up for landscaping, and the finished product should be a great improvement. The lower end of Rue de Tournon may provide a preview of the finished product. ||Forty years ago I stayed next door in the Hotel Cujas (now French Theory). For less than $8/night I enjoyed a small room on the 4th floor, no elevator, no a/c, no private shower or toilet. Times have changed -- for the better! Our next visit to Paris will definitely include a stay at the Hotel Grand...
