I have spent about a month in Georgia as a tourist
It is well known that the Georgia service is horrible so I have already developed low expectations of most of the places i visit to eat or drink but I came here on my last day in Georgia and I ended up lashing out at the servers due to their horrible behavior
I came in asking for a table just for myself during a busy evening. They just ignored me and Iâm standing there in the center of the restaurant for five minutes
Then three people behind me came in and they were seated down immediately
I went to the cashier and told her hey I need a table for one person. She told me to go to the other room
On the other room, there was a guy eating alone who was about to leave so I was like perfect. I waited additional five minutes. The guy left and as I was waiting for the table to be cleaned, the servers started merging that table with a huge table and was saying no empty table. I just lost it.
I told them âam I stupid. I have been waiting here for 10 minutes and you guys are just making me jump here and thereâ. She is all apologetic and tells me what can she do⌠thatâs the problem. You are not doing anything and itâs the same server who saw me walk in 10 minutes ago. Could have just said waiting time is 30 minutes or something. They didnât tell me anything and completely ignored me and misdirected me
Anyways I did manage to sit down as I was about to leave. The food was good- I had their khaslama- but it doesnât really stand out compared to the other restaurants nearby. Maybe I missed their speciality so I canât be a good critic on their food here
The negative experience I had would ensure I never come back here again. There are plenty of restaurants in the area with just as good food
I get it that itâs a busy, popular restaurant but have some common decency for your guests. There is a way...
Read moreWe visited this restaurant the evening before last, following a recommendation from locals. First of all, Iâd like to point out that this place cannot be considered a restaurant in the full sense of the word. It felt more like a cafeteria, just styled in a local theme. When we entered, we werenât offered a table and had to find one ourselves. Menus werenât brought over either, so we had to get up and fetch them ourselves. The waitresses were somewhat rude. I understand itâs a demanding job, but it wouldnât hurt to follow some basic standards, like greeting customers. The restaurant was quite crowded, but some of the guests seemed a bit dubious in appearance. Perhaps it was just my impression, but it didnât feel very comfortable â for example, I definitely wouldnât leave my phone on the table when going to wash my hands.
We ordered shashlik, potatoes, and wine. Both types of shashlik were heavily oversalted and extremely tough, with bones and sinew making it impossible to eat in places. The potatoes were also overly salted. In such cases, I believe itâs better not to salt food at all and leave it to the customer to adjust seasoning themselves using the salt provided on the table. The wine was terrible, but to be fair, it only...
Read moreVery strange experience. They knew we spoke English yet we were given Georgian menus. We couldn't read it so we asked for English menus. We asked to order but the girl didn't speak English so motioned us to wait. So we just sat there waiting. Finally the guy in charge made her take our order with the help of a Georgian menu and a lot of pointing. They charge 1.5 per khinkali so I asked for 4, then we ordered pork ribs. Instead of only 4 khinkali, we got an entire plate. I told the kitchen I only wanted 4 and they said that's not possible, eventually they gave me only 4. If there's a minimum order amount, it should say it on the menu. Also, why price it per piece if you have to order an entire plate? Then we got two plates of pork ribs when we only ordered 1. I have no idea what we paid for in the end but it was a lot more than I expected. The food was good but ultimately quite an unfortunate experience with poor service, which you pay 10% for. I understand it's a Georgian restaurant but it could have all been handled differently, and a smile...
