Disappointing Experience
When I arrived at Tuta Hotel without a booking, I went to the reception and asked if they had any rooms available for a 17-night stay. The woman at the desk confirmed availability, showed me a room, and told me I could have it for 2500 GEL if I paid in cash. This arrangement was acceptable, and I was able to pay in cash instalments of 500/1000 GEL every few days.
However, when it came time to pay the remaining balance, another woman assisted me and informed me that the total bill was 3560 GEL. I explained that the previous staff member had agreed to 2500 GEL, and that she had written down this amount. Despite my explanation and the written agreement, the second woman refused to acknowledge it and insisted on the higher rate. Frustrated, I decided to pay the higher amount and leave.
Important Advice: Do not agree to pay in cash and only book this place online to avoid being scammed.
General Hotel Impressions: Location: The hotel is in a good location. Cleanliness: The hotel is generally clean, but they did not change the sheets even after two weeks. The bathroom was not cleaned properly during my entire stay, and the glass cups in the bathroom were filthy on check-in.
Staff: Most of the hotel staff were very nice, except for one woman who was unhelpful and unfriendly. She seemed inconvenienced whenever I asked for anything and didn’t listen to my concerns.
Message to Management: I suggest training your staff to ensure they deliver on their promises and updating your system accordingly.
I will not stay here again because there was no willingness to honor the original agreement. Additionally, it was inconvenient to have to go to an ATM to pay in cash at their request.
Addition: It was not until the third payment that I was informed the amount had changed nearing day 14 so why would I change hotels. No I did not agree to 180 GEL per night as you suggest. You were not even there when I checked in. Please review your security footage from check-in and zoom in on the paper your employee wrote on, where the agreed amount of 2500 GEL is clearly noted. Then ask her to provide you with this paper for proof. The only reason she gave me a discounted rate was if I paid in cash which was her request so I agreed to this arrangement. Additionally, you can see she took further notes when I made the second installment. It is not my fault that your staff member agreed to an incorrect rate. Instead of blaming the customer, I suggest you address this issue with your staff member for her incompetence. Also it might be worth for you to extend a smile to your guests not the other way around. When I did ask for the very few requests over my 17 day stay most were met with kindness except for one woman who seemed annoyed and inconvenienced. You know who you are!
Your refusal to take responsibility for any of the issues I have raised demonstrates a lack of care for your customers.
I chose not to have my room cleaned every day because it was unnecessary and wasteful. However, I would expect that at a 4-star hotel, the sheets would be changed and the bathroom cleaned appropriately as my stay approached the second week.
This response highlights the attitude given towards guests who raise legitimate issues and receive no recourse.
You also say it would be good to extend a greeting to fellow members of the hotel. I suggest you train your staff to do the same.
To anyone staying at this hotel, make sure you get written copies of all...

From the moment we arrived in the early hours of Christmas Eve (3 AM!), the hospitality stood out. The receptionist, whose name I unfortunately can’t recall, greeted us warmly with a smile, making us feel instantly welcome despite the late hour.||Breakfast was included during our stay, and it was an absolute treat. The first morning we enjoyed a delicious spread of fresh, varied options to suit every taste. The food was thoughtfully prepared and a perfect start to our day of exploring the city. On the morning of our departure, since we had to leave at 4 AM, the same incredibly thoughtful staff member went above and beyond by packing us a takeaway breakfast. This thoughtful gesture, especially with kids in tow and three connecting flights ahead, was a true lifesaver!||The hotel itself is clean and inviting, with a great ambiance that complements the charm of Old Tbilisi. Its location is perfect—within walking distance to all the main attractions and sights.||Hotel TUTA exceeded our expectations in every way. From its impeccable service to its fantastic breakfast and prime location, it deserves a solid 5/5. We highly recommend it to anyone visiting Tbilisi, and we’ll definitely stay here again...

I had to cancel my reservation at Hotel Tuta in Tbilisi at the very last minute due to an unfortunate experience with Georgian immigration. Despite this abrupt cancellation, the hotel management was incredibly understanding and accommodating, choosing not to charge us at all. Their sympathetic and reasonable approach during a difficult time showed a genuine commitment to customer care.
While my experience with Georgian immigration was deeply disappointing, marked by what I felt was racist and discriminatory treatment, the hotel was a bright contrast. The staff’s kindness and professionalism reassured me that Hotel Tuta genuinely values its guests. Although I didn’t have the chance to stay, this level of compassion and flexibility speaks volumes about the quality of service they offer.
Based on this experience, I’m confident that Hotel Tuta is a great choice for anyone visiting Tbilisi. While I cannot recommend the immigration experience for travelers of color, I would wholeheartedly endorse Hotel Tuta as a welcoming and reliable place to stay...
