Old metekhi — Restaurant in Tbilisi

Stay away if you want to be treated with respect and want to actually sleep where you make a reservation. We stayed in this hotel before and when we did we liked it enough to consider staying there again - even though the 'third' bed in the room was a sleeping couch in which I could feel the springs in my back all night. We planned to make a reservation through the website we had originally booked it through, but they asked us not to so they didn't have to pay the commission. So we made a reservation with the lady on the spot for two more nights 10 days later. When we came back 10 days later, it turns out they were overbooked and didn't even 'have our reservation anymore'. The same lady was there, and just lying through her teeth. At some point they acknowledged we had made a booking, but they are now full, so not their problem. After we refused to leave for half an hour demanding to speak to the manager, they 'decided to help' but showing us another hotel room around the area - the first one had no windows?! and the second room they showed us was a two person room (we had booked the triple/ family suite with them as we were with 3 people). When showing the room with no windows to us, the lady who 'forgot' our reservation even started making faces to the other hotel's owner behind my mother's back! After having showed us the two inadequate rooms, they basically said it's not their problem anymore. They had promised the manager would come, but then said he would not be coming. So in the end we left, and had to make extra expenses to still find a room for the night. ||||So stay away if you actually want to know where you will be staying your nights, and you don't want to be treated extremely rude...

The hotel is a 5-10 minutes walk from Avlabari Metro Station, where bus 337 to/from the airport stops. The Avlabari neighbourhood is tourist friendly (with supermarket, restaurants, ATMs and money changers), safe and quiet at night, and far from the protest area (Rustaveli). Rike Park, the cable car to Mother Georgia, the old town and the sulphur baths are all within 10 minutes walk from the hotel.||The hotel itself is situated along the river. An upgrade from city view to river view is highly worth the additional price because from your room's private balcony, you will get a spectacular view of the old town across the river. (For those with city view rooms, you can still see a part of the river from a small public balcony, or from the breakfast room.) My room is clean, quiet and comfortable. The room is equipped with mini-fridge, small kettle, basic toiletries, and free wifi. (My room is close to the reception so the wifi in my room is stable and fast.) Breakfast consists of standard items (bread, cheese, ham, coffee, tea, juices), as well as hot porridge, eggs, and a few unique salads. I will come here again if I visit...

При этом было достаточно времени прилета, направления и имён. Рейс был поздний и мы были с негабаритным багажом. Нас встретили и помогли с багажом. |We organize transfer from airport just for several hours before check in. All you need is time of your flight, destination and your names. The flight was late and we had oversized luggage. Driver met us and helped with the luggage. | |2)При заселении в отель (был 1 ночи) у нас спросили только имена и посмотрели паспорта, все было очень быстро. Вошли в наше положение (мы очень устали после перелёта) и не стали возиться с бумажным оформлением. К утру все бумаги были уже заполнены и нам потребовалось только расписаться. |Check in was fast with out filling any papers, they just scanned our passports. It was nice because we there tired after the flight and it was 1 a.m. In the morning all papers there filed and we just sign them.||3) Весь негабаритный багаж сами разместили в камере хранения, а тяжелые сумки помогли отнести на верхний этаж. |They helped us to brought all luggage we need to the 3rd floor and put all oversized luggage to luggage room. ||4) Ребята на ресепшене очень отзывчивые, могут помочь во всех возникающих вопросах:|-помогли в Организации раннего трансфера в соседний город;|-организовали ранний завтрак;|-без предварительного заказа сделали поздний выезд;|-помогли с хранением багажа до отъезда.|На ресепшене легко подскажут где основные достопримечательности и с удовольствием помогут в выборе мест для еды, а также с бронированием столиков и вызовом такси. Есть бумажные Карты Города. |Stuff on the reception is nice and helpful, can help in any question:|-organized early transfer to the neighbor city;|-organized early breakfast;|-with out preorder made late check out;|-kept our luggage till we pas out of the city.|You can easily find out where all main places of interest, restaurants and bars and where table if you need on reception.||В целом про отель:|Милый семейный отель, с домашней кухней и удачным расположением (3 минуты от храма Метехи; 10 минут от улица с ресторанами; 15 минут от блошиного рынка). Есть все необходимые удобства. Мыло, шампуни, полотенца, тапочки чистое белье. |Не стоит путаться узких старых улочек с обветшалыми деревянными балконами. В этих старых улочках дух настоящего старого Тбилиси.|About the hotel in general:|Cute family hotel with homemade food and very good location (3 min. from the Metehi Temple; 10 min. from the street with bars and restaurants; 15 min. from flea market on foot). Everything you need for comfortable stay. |You shouldn’t be scary by small old streets with old balconies-it is one of old Tbilisi spirit’s part. ||P.S. По возможности старайтесь просить номер на третьем этаже с балконом. Вид из него невероятно красивый. (Фото) |Кроме того на балконе очень приятно пить местное вино которым в отеле угощают. ||P.S.
