We liked absolutely everything:|-The personnel is amazing, kind, always helpful, speaks georgian, russian, english|-The view of the city|-The breakfast! From 8 to 11. A great variety of food - eggs, sausages, vegetables, salads, adjika, sausages, croissants, they make coffee of your choice (both latte and capuchinho were great), the menu slightly changes from day to day but we always had something to fill our stomachs with and feel ourselves like in a restaurant! They even made georgian salad one morning that was better than in several restaurants we visited :)|-The hotel is the closest building to the Citadel. You can also start and end your day by a trip on the funicular to/from the city centre. To achieve that just take a short 10min hike up the stairs in the mountain and use the transport card (the one-way cost was 2.5 lari in Jan 2023). An amazing experience that we’ve never had in other cities.|-The Internet was stable and fast enough for me, I did manage to successfully hold a zoom meeting with it.|-There were soaps, shower gels, shampoos, tea, coffee refilled every day; slippers; a free crib was very convenient for our 4yo child|-The room was warm enough, the bed was very comfortable|-There was no dust under the bed! Everyday cleaning, it was so clean that we even noticed that.||We had a room on the second floor.||WAS NOT A DRAWBACK for us! But might be challenging for someone else. The road to the hotel is quite steep and might be slightly slippery during / after...
Read moreTwo things to understand about this hotel||- Citadel Express is the budget half of the Citadel Narityn, so a taxi takes you to the Citadel for check-in, that's where you have breakfast, etc.||- This hotel is very, very high in the air, up a steep hill, just under the citadel. So the views are stunningly beautiful, but you have to be prepared to walk up and down very steep cobbled streets. Pretty slick cobbles when wet by the way, and stairs inside the hotel to get to the room.||That having been said, this was a pretty nice budget room. Comfortable bed, TV with channels in numerous languages including English, small bathroom with shower stall and no shortage of hot water. Clean, plenty of good quality towels. Breakfast buffet is in the connected main hotel and is included, plenty of coffee, yoghurt, cereals, a couple of hot dishes along with regional breads, cheeses, cold cuts and fruit, enough to get the day started.||And those views out the window! You are at the edge of the old city, above the river, above Bethlemi street, looking out at churches and rooftops. Really beautiful. But you gotta be prepared to walk...
Read moreThis review is about room number 13. We had booked 3 nights in total. Usually we are not very picky and don't review a lot but this time we are really annoyed.
First the positive: really nice view and location. Rooms are spacious and and seem to be new.
Negative: first night no warm water. This was fixed on the next day around noon... Not fixed till the end (after we notified and complained several times) the super annoying loud noise coming from the toilet and pipes (the whole day and night). They didn't give us a different room. After a quick look into breakfast room we always had our breakfasts outside (at least the coffee was great) We gave some clothes into laundry (they almost lost half of it) but after return it smelled worse than before and in comparison to other hotels was way overcharged.
In total we think that there is no good management due the lack of organization and discipline.
We will come back to Tbilisi and Georgia but for sure not...
