ძალიან ჯანდაბა გემრიელი კერძია!
This restaurant is definitely one of the best Georgian restarant in Tbilisi. We ordered Adjarian Khachapuri, veal Chashushuli, Eggplant with walnut and homemade lemonade. First, about food, homemade lemonade was amazing since it tasted really fresh with some pomegranate and berries. And the meat in veal Chashushuli was just a pure joy of chewing and the collaboration with tomato sauce was wonderful. Eggplant with walnut was quite nice, especially the oil on the surface of it was the magic and one of features that made this restaurant special.
More than anything, Adjarian Khachpuri was so amazing that we, in deed, did order one more at the end of the meal! The cheese was so fresh and the bread part of it was hot and full of another fresh cheese in it.
The view from the restaurant was another charming point of this restaurant with beautiful sceneary of Mtkvari River and Metekhi Church.
Staffs were all friendly and helpful with fluent English as well.
Only downside of this restaurant was that since it opens from 1pm, it would be great if it opens a bit earlier for who wants to have lunch before 1pm.
Since we still have more days staying in Tbilisi, we are surely back here again within a few...
Read moreLocated in Tbilisi‘s old town in close vicinity to the sulfur baths, Usakhelouri restaurant offers excellent Georgian food with very fair prices. The menu offers a wide range of the classic starters and sides as well as many different main courses. We’ve actually been to the restaurant twice since we liked it so much and the staff was very friendly.
The first time we had the cucumber & tomato salad, home style fried potatoes, an imeretian khachapuris as well as the fried chicken in garlic sauce. Portions were quite big so my wife and I didn’t manage to finish all the food despite our best efforts. They also have an extensive wine list for bottles or glasses. Glasses range from 4 GEL (home red, had it and it’s quite good) to around 14 GEL.
The second time we again had the cucumber & tomato salad, home style fried potatoes, the eggplant with walnut as well as the fried salmon. Again, all dishes were excellent and are thus highly recommended. The waiter still knew us from our first visit a couple days earlier and greeted us very warmly.
In short, clear recommendation to enjoy their very tasty Georgian food in a great location, inside or on...
Read moreWhat a scam. I have no idea how they got such great reviews. Out of the dozens of places we ate at all over Georgia, this place is one of the worst. The food is edible, but nothing to write home about. Yes, it is a bit pricy, but compared to western europe, not that bad. My main complaint is the flavor. Any corner restaurant has better tasting food for a fraction of the price. And when I mentioned to our server that our chicken was light on sauce, her response was simply... SO? It's like a comedy that's not very funny. Now their Mother Khinkalli.. that's funny. In fact, I would recommend you order it just for the laughs. What a waste of precious flour. Even though we were starving, we couldn't choke down another piece of dry chicken. Tblisi old town is full of these tourist traps... so be weary of where you eat. My recommendation, go to the smaller back alley streets. You'll likely find locals there enjoying a beautiful Georgian meal. At this "restaurant", you won't see any locals.. infact, the night we went we were the only...
