I booked to stay at Bluebell studios on September 22.||At the point of booking with booking.com I explained that I needed a fully flexible process as my passport had been stolen thus I was waiting for a replacement passport.||On the 21st I called booking. Com as my ETA for my passport was the 28th September.||I had paid extra for a flexible booking so booking.com confirmed that the booking could be removed without charge and they stated that they had not taken payment as yet anyway.||That was a lie. They took £622.24.||On the 28th I called both the hotel and booking .com to confirm that my passport would arrive by October 5th therefore I’d be able the travel in 7 days ie October 6th.||||The conversation was an absolute shock.||||I was advised that although I had paid the highest rate for a fully flexible booking if I made one change it ceased to be a flexible booking and that I would forfeit the entire payment.||I wasn’t previously advised this by Booking.com or the hotel.||This was opportunistic fraud exercised by the apartment owner and supported by Booking.com.||The hotel is also very difficult to deal with as they cannot speak English only Greek.||||I did explain to Booking.com that I couldn’t now afford to take a holiday and that I hadn’t taken a holiday for 3 years as I have been fighting cancer.||I also said that I needed a peaceful break as my father died at a fairly young age recently.||||As a British English speaker this has been horrific. I can speak French and English fluently but I simply couldn’t communicate. The Booking.com rep barely spoke English and the property owners only spoke Greek as mentioned.||||A great money spinner for them but devastatingly...
Read moreWe were already on the island of Crete. We booked this place through booking.com. We arrived at 10am after a 80 mile trip at the town to enjoy its historical background. We were welcomed by the male owner who said the room would be ready by 2pm, not a problem, we just wanted to know where our £165pn accomodation was. We then enjoyed the town. We booked our meal for the night. We came back at 2pm, the cleaner/housekeeper was outside, we went up the stairs, she followed, she phoned the owner, the owner spoked to us and advised there had been a double booking!! And we weren't staying!! We had to travel 80miles back 2.30hrs away!! As we could not get other accommodation. It is clear their calendar is not syncing with booking.com, else we would not have been able to book. We are totally disgusted how we...
Read moreWe came here with such high expectations following glowing recommendations.|Unfortunately our experience was very different.|The location was fabulous and both Elenis especially blonde Eleni were very warm and helpful.|However our room on the ground floor was located near lots of restaurants and opposite a bar. The noise continued till 4 -5 am every night. Impossible to sleep with Doof doof music and the beat . ||Consequently we were unable to sleep and were in a constant state of exhaustion for the entire we were there.||Why haven’t the owners installed double glazed windows as they are aware of the issue.?||This is not acceptable, we’re not 18 year old backpackers. Accommodation of this level needs to take this feedback |seriously. ||||It’s such a shame as this accommodation has a...
