Hidden Gem with Big Flavor and Constant Buzz
Stumbled upon this cozy spot thanks to my wife’s food sleuthing—and wow, what a find. It’s a small place, nothing flashy, but the food speaks volumes. As we walked up, we saw an elderly local couple quietly savoring their meal. That was our green light.
I tried the chicken and pork skewers (singles), plus a pork-and-lamb kebab. Everything was grilled to perfection—juicy, flavorful, and satisfying. The fries came with a generous dollop of “sause” (yes, spelled that way on the menu)—a pinkish mayo-ketchup blend. Not bad at all, though I’d prefer it served on the side rather than in a mountain on top.
The salad was a surprise hit. My wife loved the honey vinaigrette dressing, and even as someone who usually sticks to olive oil, vinegar, salt, and pepper, I found it refreshing.
One thing to note: this place is non-stop. There’s always a steady flow of people—some waiting to be seated, others grabbing takeaway. You might get lucky with timing, but it’s clearly a local favorite and the buzz never dies down.
Prices are fair, portions are solid, and the menu has great variety. Definitely worth a visit if you're nearby and craving something delicious...
Read moreFood ok service level not so good. We ordered dishes and drinks. my companion's drink arrived and at the same time the entire bill. (Also came a bottle of water, which we didn't order and on the bill it was 1€.) I was wondering where the white wine I ordered is. While looking at the invoice, I noticed that it had not been invoiced. I asked another waiter to bring the wine I had ordered, I said that the previous waiter must not have heard the order because it wasn't on the bill either. Then a third waiter came and said that they don't have any white wine at all. It would have been kinder if the first waiter had come to tell us that the white wine was out before bringing us the bill. So we could still decide if we want to stay at that restaurant. In Crete, I have noticed that if the wine is out of stock of restaurant, someone from the restaurant will go and pick it up from the store or from the restaurant next door. In this restaurant there were several waiters who had time to chat with each other. It was only 6 in the afternoon and the restaurant was nowhere near full. Crete has such a great service culture, except in this restaurant you didn't...
Read moreThis unassuming laid-back down to earth eatery was happened. Upon randomly we were walking on our way to another restaurant, and my brother suggested that we eat there. I read the reviews 4.7 stars and a few thousand reviews. Why not try it? it was amazing…I don’t even know how they manage to prepare their meats so well. but the meats are absolutely delectable and fresh. The salad is great. The meat platter is only €13 but you get so much food. we had leftovers the next day and the meal only cost us about $12 a person. We were so sad when we came back to the United States because we know we will never find a restaurant this great at such an amazing price. we tried to leave the waiter a tip and he wouldn’t accept it. It is amazing how down to earth he was. These people are so nice and the restaurant is great. It...
