Rooms are really nice: simple, clean and modern (I loved the bathroom faucet!).||||+ Location is excellent, right in the middle of an old town. Hotel lobby (where you pick up the keys) is really close.||||+ Tv, air conditioner, safe locker, small refrigator, toothbrush, small shampoo bottle etc are found in the room. Also free wifi.||||+ Bed is great (semi-hard mattress is really good for your back!) and memory foam pillow is great. ||||- Once you enter the building where the rooms are, you notice an odor which is best described as a mix of fresh paint and a mold problem. Later I noticed that air humidity is quite high and water stays on a shower floor for a very long time, if you don't wipe it with a towel. There's definitely mold problem in this building.||||- Closed windows don't block any sound here, so bring your earplugs if you are bothered by sounds when you sleep - there's a small restaurant behind/under windows and you can hear everything, loudly. With ear plugs I slept very well.||||- No light-blocking curtains in the rooms, so you might wake up early in the morning because of the light.||||- Tiny, black, flying butterfly-looking insects in the bathroom.||||- And finally the worst: Cockroaches. Hotel stuff was really nice until I very politely told them that there was two cockroaches in my room. No apologing, no nothing, just explaining that "we don't have them in our house, they come outside".||||Well, of course they originally come from outside, but my windows were always closed, those cockroches were really fat/big (there's restaurant in same building) and they knew exactly how to navigate in the room so they definitely weren't there "by mistake" or just because of an single accident.||||Despite the moldy odor and other little minuses I first really liked this place and was planning to come back with my family, but this cockroach-episode and how to stuff handled it, changed my mind.||||I left 4 euro tip every day for the cleaners and tried to be a nice customer in every way, but when there's cockroaches in my room, they don't even apologize or say that it's unfortunate.||||Because of that, my earlier 4/5...
Read moreWhen we booked this room we were aware of the fact that it has only a small window and no balcony. When we got there we realised that the walls in the bathroom and the bedroom itself had visible damp, and the room smelled strongly of mould, probably due to bad ventilation. We asked to be moved to another room but were told there were no rooms available. We ended up finding alternative accommodation for our stay in Chania.||||The staff were polite and we got a refund for our room. ||||Maybe other rooms in other hotels of this group are fine, but it was not possible for us to stay in this...
