Monarco Boutique Hotel — Hotel in Municipality of Rhodes

We have just spent 10 nights at Monarco and although the expectations, based on pictures and previous reviews, were high - the overall impression was pretty poor. When we arrived in the night of July 13th we discovered our room was looking directly into the Thetis bar that played extremely loud music until early next morning. We asked Monarco property management to change our room (number 5), but they were not helpful at all and rejected this due to limited availability. Also, they advised it was only due to weekend, which of course was not the case, so we had to cope with the loud music during most of the nights during our stay. The room view and respective inconvenience has never been advised by Monarco team prior to the start of the booking. Cleanliness was also something to complain about. Specifically, during our first use of the bathroom we had to clean the siphon ourselves, otherwise the bathroom would become floating with water. Also, the balcony, although looking to the street and therefore getting a lot of dust normally did not got cleaned until we requested it. In brief, despite the high standards, claimed by the property, the reality is quite different - a decent room with coffee machine and marble bathroom, but lacking any kind of proper customer service,...

After checking out, I realized I had left some personal items in my room (swim shorts, clothes, phone charger). I called the same day and was told they would check and call me back — they never did. I called again the next day, they still hadn’t checked. Five days passed with no update. One staff member even raised their voice at me on the phone. Very unprofessional, careless, and disrespectful service. My belongings are now lost. I will never stay here again and do not recommend this...

Just keep in mind while your inside your unit make sure to lock your door as every keycard can open everyone’s doors. Wouldn’t recommend staying here. Not great service aswell as we had a smoke alarm going off for 3 hours straght until they came to turn it off after we called them. my parents unit on the bottom floor had a drainage issue in the shower as the water wouldn’t go...
