The hotel territory is like a small wonderland, with very beautiful gardens and statues. Place is very quiet and peaceful, although the market is within arm's reach. Hotel staff is very nice, polite and welcoming. You can order the breakfast and it will be delivered right to your room, where you can enjoy it on your rooms terrace with the lovely view. Room itself is a piece of art, although very simple. We did not notice, that room that we booked doesn't include the AC, as we assumed that in Bali it is in every hotel room, but already on our arrival without asking the receptionist told, that he will give it to us, what was very nice of him. Unfortunately big problem in our room was the smell of the old, wet furniture and mold. In this place it was much more pronounced than in other hotels in Asia where we encountered the same issue. The towels smelled intolerably after just half day use, they did not dry due to the humidity level in the bathroom and were changed only after request, so we needed to keep them outside, to not make smell in the room even worse. The bedsheets were so old that you can see already through them. As we are staying in different places with budget level staying options, I would say that although this hotel is very beautiful and staff is super nice, you can find hotel for the same price with much better living conditions. From other reviews I see that this not so good experience is most probably with the cheapest rooms, so please do not judge whole hotel only from this review, maybe hotel owner simply cannot afford at the moment to renovite and update those low budget rooms and hotel location doesn't allow to lower the price. In general, you can see that people put their heart into what they do.

I had a wonderful stay in Padma Ubud retreat. My room and bathroom were spacious and clean. With such a pretty view on the beautiful garden. And with a good aircon and fan. Had my own coffee, tea station and refrigerator. Daily my room was cleaned. Both the swimming pools are so beautiful as are the gardens, I really enjoyed them. Massages and treatments can be booked on site for a fair price. The location is central. Tucked away, quiet and secluded yet just a small walking distance from the main road in Ubud centre. . And going to the otherside to the ricefields. Walking outside the retreat you find yourself in the Art Center selling centre, which is really nice. The staff isvery kind and helpful! I can go on and on. And miss being here. Terima kasih Padma Ubud retreat, for a wonderfull stay!

I had a week in Ubud and tried three different properties, each one in a similar area and similar price range. Padma Retreat outshone the other two by far and for me it was a wonderful and unforgetable experience. The rooms are large with a huge bed, fridge and tea/ coffee. My electric jug did not work on arrival and it was replaced immediately. I loved having breakfast served on my own balcony. The two pools are very clean with plenty of lounging room around them. The gardens were a joy to come back to each day and the property is a few minutes walk from the main street and Ubud Market. The staff always had a smiley face and I would happily return on my next visit

Excellent value hotel. Great location if you want to be in Central Ubud. Very quiet, especially in the garden units, with excellent walkability. It’s a little bit challenging if you want to extensively use Grab/Gojek cars. The hotel is off a mainly pedestrian shopping street that cars can’t negotiate during busy times. Often we were dropped at the bottom of the street which we didn't mind because it is only 270 meters from the hotel. But not great for anyone with mobility issues. In the early morning before the business day, when the shopping street was empty, Grabs and shuttles did do pickup/drop-off at the hotel entry. Travel by motorbike is not a problem at any hour.|A few suggestions: I wish the in-room safe was large enough for laptop/tablet. It’s only big enough for wallets, passports, keys. Also, a safe should be attached to a cabinet, not unattached and easy for someone to simply steal the whole box.|The towels seemed fine and clean but had a noticeable musty smell. It’s a damp climate so maybe the drying or storage process for them needs to be changed.|The lower pool is beautiful and an excellent quiet retreat. But the chairs there had no cushions. The upper pool has comfortable...
