Design&Art Pie’ Guest House was just perfect. ||First, that location. Walk 2 minutes and your breath is taken away by the awesome sight of the Pantheon. It’s extremely walkable to most places you’d want to visit, eat at, or shop. And when your feet get too tired, there are lots of buses nearby that will connect you to those places easily. (I usually worry about getting lost on buses vs the subway or metro. The subway usually seems more straightforward to me, but taking the bus in Rome was a breeze with the help of google maps. There are little shops very near the hotel where you can get a bus ticket easily). ||Second, the property itself. It’s on the second floor of a charming building, and yes it does have a lift to take you and your bags up to the second floor. The lift looks tiny, but we managed to squeeze 2 enormous suitcases and 2 human beings into it, so don’t worry about a thing. The small lobby is cozy and welcoming, there’s an honesty bar which looks really well-stocked, and there’s a pitcher of water in the lobby to refresh you after a long day. We had the standard double room, which was really spacious, well-lit, well-equipped and so so comfortable. The queen bed had 2 regular pillows and 2 memory foam pillows, was just the right firmness, and we had the best sleeps. Lots of space for our luggage and to hang clothes. There is a mini-bar and even an apple TV! The bathroom is fantastic, with rain shower and regular shower, water pressure just perfect. Needless to say, everything is very clean. ||Finally, the owners are just lovely. They aren’t on the property 24/7, but we never wanted for anything. Ulli and Reka met us at check-in, and gave us so many tips on where to go, how to get there, where to eat (and let me tell you, those restaurant recommendations are fantastic.) They are such warm and wonderful people, and Ulli was very easily contactable throughout our stay. We even came back to the room on our last night to find a bottle of bubbly waiting for us! Honestly we just felt so spoilt. On the day we checked out, Ulli met us in the lobby and helped us get a cab to the airport.||This place was the cherry on top of our amazing trip to Rome. Thanks for a...
Read moreLoved staying here! Friendly and helpful staff, was able to call from airport and get an early check in which was amazing after a long day of traveling to get there. Rooms were very comfortable and cleaned thoroughly everyday. Felt very safe there, located in a secure building with locks on building entrance, lobby, and room door. Located in heart of Pantheon district which made it a perfect home base for our vacation, making it easy to walk to famous attractions and train station. Sometimes late at night the upstairs neighbors stomped around loudly but we were still able to sleep soundly every night and the room was quiet otherwise. And, besides the house keeper, there is no staff on site during our stay, which would have been nice to have at times for immediate questions (only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars) However, we were still able to contact them by email and phone when needed and they were always happy to help, so overall it was a 5-star stay. Would definitely stay there again if we ever go back to Rome. Thank you everyone at...
Read moreThe room was large and comfortable and was cleaned daily. The location was brilliant, only a few minutes walk from the Pantheon.|The hotel advertised as having a lift, as a person with limited mobility, I would not have chosen a hotel without one. On arrival, the lift door on the first floor (where the hotel is) was locked and therefore unusable. When I contacted the hotel manager (via text as there were no hotel staff present) he told me "the hotel is not suitable for wheelchairs" and refused to acknowledge the issue with the lift. I was forced to use the stairs for the whole stay, causing myself pain and risking injury.|On our return home I contacted Booking.com to request that they speak with the property about the issue with the lift, but the hotel manager once again refused to acknowledge the problem, only stating again "the hotel is not suitable for wheelchairs"|If you have any kind of access need, I definitely don't...
