Our family of 4 had booked a quadruple room at MyTime Rome close to a year in advance for the 2015 Spring Break. Looking forward to our one-night stay in Rome, we checked in eager to explore as the hotel is situated in the perfect spot. Everything went smoothly while they processed our check-in information. Only then did they inform us that our family room had "plumbing issues" and that they had secured us alternative accommodation across the street in a much nicer room at a discounted price.||||Skeptically, we followed them across the street to the 3* Hotel Elide, where the front desk person there showed us to our new room which appeared to be a vacant abandoned upper-floor apartment with dirty walls, exposed electrical wires and mouldy shower curtains. We immediately went back to MyTime Rome to express our dissatisfaction and gave them a couple hours to work out alternative plans while we went for a walk.||||When we got back, they had resolved nothing so I asked them to show me the vacant room that had the "plumbing issues". As we expected, there were no plumbing issues. They had double booked the room and tried to lie their way out of it. They then tried to say we had already checked into the other room at Hotel Elide and we were now on the hook for our room charges over there (fortunately we had not provided our credit card details to the new hotel).||||With no acceptable resolution in sight, we were forced to search out alternative accommodation on our own over the Spring Break holidays. Needless to say we paid a much higher price for a last-minute room elsewhere. We were completely disappointed to be put in this situation after booking the room well in advance on a very reputable travel booking website, but made the best of the rest of the...
Read moreWhen I was a student (many hairs ago), I once stayed in a B&B in Yorkshire, England. It was just that; a bed (single but ok) and breakfast (fried bacon and eggs but ok). That was it. Shared bathroom down the hall, please vacate by 9:00am and don't come back until 6:00pm.||I'm happy to say that My Time Rome has changed my idea of B&B. It really goes above and beyond bed and breakfast. Where else can you get a huge, spotless room with ample double bed and single added for our 7 year old son, free wi-fi, power-shower en-suite bathroom, heating/AC unit and flatscreen multi-channel TV? ||Sandro, the owner, is a gem. Welcoming, informative, genuinely friendly (not plastic chain-hotel-receptionist-friendly if you know what I mean), he really did make our stay a pleasure. The breakfast itself couldn't be bettered, offering a wide choice of cereals, toast, croissants, hams, cheeses, biscuits, tea, coffee, fruit juice, yoghurt and milk served in a breakfast bar area.||Location-wise My Time Rome is perfect for the visitor. Near enough Termini train station to arrive on foot (10 mins tops) but far enough from it to avoid the dubious types who seem to hang around public transport hubs looking for fresh meat. Via Firenze is just off Via Nazionale but our room was quiet and traffic noise really didn't seem to penetrate. 30 seconds from bus stop, 2 minutes from Repubblica metro station (line A), an area peppered with restaurants and eateries not to mention numerous shops and bars.||My family and I stayed three nights just after the new year and can honestly say our stay was both enjoyable and great value....
Read moreMy family spent 3 nights in Rome in June, and My Time Rome was the perfect place for us to stay! It is withing walking distance from the train station and really is quite close to all of the major attractions we wanted to visit. We had a very large room, plenty of room for all four of us, the bathroom was huge and had everything we needed. Also, it had great air conditioning, since it was so hot in Rome when we were there, we needed it! When we arrived we were greeted by the nicest young lady, she showed us everything in the room, gave us a map of the city, with some suggestions for sight seeing. We had an early next morning to visit Vatican City, so she made sure we had snacks, pastries, water and juices in our room the night before, since we would not be there when they served breakfast! Our room had a mini fridge, which made it perfect for us to get up and go! They provided a huge spread for breakfast the next two mornings, something for everyone! I could go on and on about My Time Rome, they made our first time in Rome, even better. Hopefully my family and I will make it back to Rome and there is no doubt in our mind where we will be staying! Thank you...
