Palazzina Riello — Hotel in Venice

Wonderful place, we stayed here with our 1yo infant and they were very friendly and accomodating in providing facilities including a cot. The rooms are excellent quality, modern finishes, and wonderful ambiance (timber roof exposed beams!).

The location is excellent, close to central station, very easy to pull suitcases along (no steps along the way, good flat ground) and also has a nearby water bus stop. We walked for most of the stay but we also utilised the water bus' for venturing further out.

The pizzeria around the corner (La Bella Pollastrella) is delicious and well priced. They have eat in and takeaway. There is also nearby grocery supermarket to stock up as the apartment has an excellent kitchen / cooking / fridge / washing facilities! Highly recommend.

That said the main plaza bustling with restaurants, gelato, bakeries, and so forth is about 8 minutes walk away.

had booked 3 nights through booking.com. My fiancé tested positive for COVID-19 the night before our departure, so we had to cancel the weekend in Venice. I kindly asked the property if we could reschedule the booking for February next year. The reservation was non-refundable, but we couldn’t have foreseen this unexpected event. I sent a polite email hoping they would be understanding. They simply replied with a “no,” and we ended up paying for our stay in full. Ich habe mich hier wieder mal von den Weitwinkel-Fotos täuschen lassen. Das Zimmer 303 sah auf der Buchungsbestätigung deutlich grösser aus. Das Positive aber zuerst. Die Lage ist cool. Das Quartier Cannaregio ist gerade in den Seitengassen und Seitenkanälen weniger von Touristen überrannt. Jedenfalls war das jetzt im Frühlung so. Da hats wunderschöne Nebenkanäle mit herzigen Restaurants. ||Was man uns aber nicht sagte ist, dass das Appartement gerade ziemlich umgeben von lauten Baustellen war. Aber klar, die wollen ja schliesslich einfach ihre Räumlichkeiten vermieten. Wie gesagt, für uns als 5-köpfige Familie war das Appartement mit zwei Räumen sehr, sehr eng. Das Zustell-Doppelbett für unsere 14-jährige Tochten und den 12-jährigen Sohn etwas sehr eng. Eng alleine wär ja noch ok, aber die Qualität des Bettes war zusätzlich sehr klapprig und rutschte auf dem Boden schnell weg. Die Fensterläden sind zwar neu, aber der eine nicht richtig montiert, so dass man nur mässig verdunkeln konnte für die Nacht. Vielleicht muss ich es auf meine Kappe nehmen, dass ich beim Buchen zu wenig genau recherchiert habe, aber das Appartement ist eigentlich kein Hotel, sondern ein AirBnB, sprich es hat so ganz ohne Reception/Welcome-Desk etwas sehr unpersönliches. Zwar wurde per Whatsapp ziemlich schnell geantwortet, wenn man Fragen hatte. ||Ich denke beim nächsten Mal suche ich mir im gleichen Quartier...
