Aurelia Luxury — Hotel in Verona

We booked through Lastminute.com and were told to contact the property to advise our arrival time. The property didn’t respond to my first email, so I emailed again and once more no reply. I then rang the property and spoke to a helpful person. My advice is to beware if you book through a 3rd party as your contact details may not be passed to the property and don’t bother emailing them direct.|We stayed in room 3 which overlooks a quiet and very beautiful piazza at the back of the building. The location is perfect for the old part of the city, everything in walking distance (if you can walk…see later)|Facilities were basic but very clean, and the fridge and kettle were very handy. They provide cups but no cutlery, plates or bowls. The aircon struggled a bit. The bed was very comfy.|Unfortunately there are some health and safety issues here. In room 3 there is no light switch on the far side of the bed and to get in and out of it you have to negotiate a protruding bit of ancient wall next to a thin metal bed leg- dangerous if you need to get up in the dark. The bed legs are very hard to see anyway as they reflect the flooring, and I caught my toe leading to an agonising fracture and dislocation,a day at the hospital, and a ruined short break. The cleaner was very kind and helpful in helping to carry me down the stairs as I could not bear any weight on it. The stair rods holding the carpet have come away in places so the stairs are not as safe as they should be. I definitely wouldn’t recommend it for anyone with reduced mobility or...

We had contacted the host as the AC was not working correctly in our room. This was ignored for a hour and then once I phoned him he stated he had another call coming in and would get back to us. 30 minutes later he arrived at the room without notice. He had entered our room and extremely aggressive stating we were uneducated and unaware of how things were in Italy and the AC was in fact working. The air conditioning had not been working properly for the last hour and didn’t cool down the room and he simply stated that it was hot outside so what do we expect and if we don’t like it we can leave!!!.
