Lodge 58 — Hotel in Borneo

Lodge 58 is an average hotel. The rooms only have the basic - bed, t&b (for some rooms), aircon. I booked the family room, good for 3 persons. No TV which is fine, but if I may suggest, I wish they'll check the aircon and put cabinet with hangers. Plus, we have some issue with the bed covers - itchy and not comfortable. If not for the location and friendly staff, we could have booked to a much better though expensive hotel. ||||We were at the 5th floor with no elevator. we did not expect this so if you have elders with you, better request for rooms in the first or second floor. The wifi doesn't reach our room too so we need to go to the lobby for the wifi. Or buy a sim card with data for easy access of the internet anywhere. I wish they could also put another electric outlet. We had a hard time charging our phones as we need to do it one at a time. :(||||As said, the location is good. A lot of resto, bar, convenience store, and very accessible to bus stop and taxi bay. Near market and Suria Mall - 5-10 minute walk..||||No problem with the reception. I stayed here with a friend for a total of 4 nights. Considering the price tag, 60RM/night, it's a great spot. Don't expect any fancy decorations or frills, this hostel is pretty bare bones. The staff was extremely friendly. They smoke in the common area and also sleep on the couches there. It didn't bother me but something to consider. It's also very close too the night markets in KK. I didn't meet any other guests during my stay, but it's not the busy season, so maybe it's a bit more social during the summer and winter holidays. We stayed 2 nights at this budget hotel on Dec 2016. We pay what we get. Cheap, clean is ok. Service attitude reach our expectation. Location is good. Sunday market just in front. Short stay is acceptable but long stay not recommended. Suitable for backpackers with tight budget, not really suit for family with kids under 12 years old.
