Upon arrival around 12.30pm at this guesthouse, we rang the doorbell but no one is there, 5 minutes later a lady staff came back and opened the gate for us to go upstair. Unfriendly, no greetings, no smiles, she gave us our room key. The staff couldn't be bothered to show us the room, so we have to find the room ourselves. ||||The rooms are basic and tiny without window. We booked a triple room, 1 double bed and 1 single bed with aircond. Once we entered, there's a strong smell in the room, I guess it's some chinese medicine oil smell. Then we noticed some hairs on the bedsheets, we asked the staff whether they change the bedsheets for new guest. Well, we were told that they change it every 3 guests staying and they don't have extra bedsheets. The bed has only a thin mattress cover and a thin blanket. Towels are provided, we covered our pillows with the towels as we felt the cleanliness was dubious.||||There's a pc to online and wifi is available for guests. However the staff told us that we only can use the pc for 15 minutes. There's only one semi-clean bathroom and one toilet for all guests. ||||The location is very strategic to walk-around in jonker street. Right in front of the guesthouse is the weekend night market and a event stage where people having karaoke, it gets noisy during weekends. During our stay, there's a group of youngster guests chit chatting loudly till late night. We can hear the noise as the room has only a thin wooden wall. This place is not recommended for light sleepers.||||Overall, this was poor value for money, there are many better options in Melaka with the same price. Location was good for those who like to explore jonker street...

This hotel has a perfect location right in the town center, you can't have it any better. We checked in on a Friday night, were told that our rooms were at the front side of the hotel and that there was a night market, so it could be a bit noisy. No problem what so ever we did not hear a thing. Both the original stained glass windows are there and an additional window frame on the inside. Yes the rooms are really big, so is the bed and the pictures that are on Tripadvisor do match reality. The walking distance to the red heritage buildings is really close and while walking to them, you can enjoy all the shops and many restaurants that are on your way. The parking is right behind the hotel very convenient. Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful and the reception is manned 24hrs.||The hotel does not have an elevator, though staff can assist you with carrying your luggage to the room if required. This hotel has art deco looks, both interior and exterior of the hotel. The hotel does not serve breakfast but you can have a western breakfast at the stolen cup or any of the many restaurants nearby. ||||If you find this review helpful pls give me a thumbs up, I must have done close to 500 reviews and if I can count the votes...

I spotted this hotel many years ago while walking down Jonker Walk and thought what a strategic location this hotel was. Since then, I have been wanting to book a room here and finally managed to do so 3 years down the road.

Jonker Boutique Hotel is a beautiful, clean and very well maintained hotel despite its exterior. The wooden parquet flooring and the black and white marbled tiled bathroom floor, makes this hotel a comfortable stay for tired tourists and burnt out corporate execs looking for a quick getaway. The bed is comfortable and the shower is excellent. The location is superb as it is situated right in front of Jonker Night Market with lots of shops, eateries and heritage centres.

Though I never received any complimentary welcome drink nor anyone offered to carry my luggage to my room, the hospitality of the front office staff, Amy more than make up for it. She even offered to help me search for the nearest coffee shop when I needed to wake up early for a bike tour.

Overall, thumbs up for the wonderful stay and will definitely stay here for my next...

Strategic location as it is nearby various famous shops, desserts and whatnot. It is at the near end entrance to the jonker walk night market. Price is fair as compared to surrounding hotels, Airbnb and room for rent. I got the deluxe room for my stay, you can checkout the pictures. Service was nice as I asked for a special arrangement/occasion. 5/5! Aesthetics is what you'd expect from a heritage area, don't expect a 4-5 star but more towards the preservation of the place as a heritage. Available parking lots behind the hotel with guarded green gate and access remote keys to open the gate. Will I return here? Sure, cause the location, arrangement and service are great. Better than nearby 5 star hotels which are pricey and far away. One minor thing, the stairs are smaller than what you'd expect, I'm sorry to say but if you are not asian-size it'd be quite crampy to navigate.

To Malacca, on an easy to go, trip, without prior booking any hotels. Once we arrived in Malacca, we googled and out popped up Jonker Boutique Hotel as one of the options for our overnight stay. Sounded favorable. Off to the hotel and after parking at the open car park of the hotel, we walked in and oh-my-my-my. Wondrous. Cozy and homey style ambiance. The reception area, the lounge and the dining area. Sipping into the complimentary drink and after looking through the rooms offerings, we decided upon the family room/suite. To the first food and ohlalala! Spacious, clean and beautifully put up together. The bathroom? Wah! Black and white color theme and modern ambiance. Loved all of it and the best part of it all, cross the road and there you are on the route along Jonker Walk.
