Absolutely love this cafe! We had coffee here every day on a recent trip to Mexico City. The cappuccino was amazing, and it was only upstaged by its own foam art...a full unicorn?!? Yes! They also have a very unique and very delicious cold brew drink with coffee, tonic water, and lemon flavoring. I've never had anything like it before. I'm going to try and replicate it at home for our next cocktail party.

On our last morning I had the avocado toast with a poached egg and my wife had the 'hippie sandwich'... the food is just as amazing as the coffee.

We learned that part of what makes Café Tilia so special is that they buy raw coffee beans from regional farmers and roast them themselves. We bought some of their roasted/branded beans to take home with us.

They have great art on the walls and ceramics on the shelves from local artists, and they do jazz evenings with live musicians. Super cool and fun.

The owners also own the AirBnB above the cafe. They are wonderfully nice people, and the AirBnB is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We stayed there during our trip, and you cannot find a better place to stay in Mexico City, especially since you can just pop downstairs to the cafe whenever...

The place is beautiful, but coffee and service could be so much better.

It was a nice place to spend a few hours with my friends, and I had a good time. In my experience, I would say that there are two details that would help to create a better experience (my friends said the same):

Service, they didn't take the time to take us to the table and make sure that we were okay (we were four people). Also, we ordered, and they took more minutes than usual. We had to ask for water while we were waiting... It was a little bit weird because they had enough people working there, but I think they had missed being proactive with us as clients. Also, to bring us a cookie and the check, we wait like 10-15 minutes.

Coffee, as a speciality coffee shop, we expect a better flat white and brewing coffee. Both weren't :(

Try chocolate cookies. Those are delicious, I ordered, but after one bite, I completely forgot the picture, haha✨️

Don't know how it has been the experience for others, but I hope next time...

A cozy cafe with plenty of options, though the service felt underwhelming and a bit dry. Walking in, we were acknowledged and greeted as we looked through the menu and decided what to order. From the start, the service was indifferent and nothing special, especially when we asked about some drinks, like their ginger soda. After paying (and being asked for a tip despite ordering at the counter), we sat outside. Our drinks arrived shortly after; my ginger soda was okay, although I had to thoroughly mix it before fully enjoying it. However, at nearly $100, it didn’t feel worth the price tag (7/10).

We ultimately had to move inside due to a passing storm, and we ended up enjoying the interior much more, as it felt cozy and quiet, especially with the rain in the background. While both the service and drinks were underwhelming, the cafe itself had a charming and cozy atmosphere, which became my favorite aspect...

Maybe it’s bad luck, but I’ve been there twice, first ask for a naranjada and they bring me the bottle of mineral water and a glass with a slice of orange… Had to complain. The second one, I found a hair on my bread, had to complain too. The rest thing is that Daniel always had an attitude of service, compensating on both times. The place is very cozy to work or just go read. They have plugs so you can connect your computer and work. Prices are good and the taste of food is great too. You should try the avocado toast and the hot chocolate which just was amazing! If you liked the review, please give a thumbs up 🙌🏼
