I'm a picky backpacker when it comes to where I want to spend the nights when traveling. I had browsed many different hotels in Kathmandu area and I couldn't be happier that I chose The Doors. ||||We arrived after almost 24-hour traveling from the US. We were welcomed with refreshment (gotta go with their masala tea!). The staff was very friendly and always quick to support. We were leaving early the next morning for Pohkara; the staff assisted to arrange bus tickets. Not only that, they walked us to the bus stop, with breakfast packed for us, the next day to make sure we got on the right bus.||||It was a no brainer to come back and stay at The Doors again after our trekking in Annapurna region before heading home. The location is superb - it's walking distance to the famous busy Thamel area but at the same time, it's quiet that you can actually get a good night sleep. Read moreI can't say enough good things about this hotel. Incredibly friendly and accommodating staff. Room was clean and the perfect size. We left our luggage here for a week long trek out of pokhara after only a 1 night stay and came back to no issues, immediately booked for an additional night without issue. I plan to book another night when I'm back from a yoga retreat because the service was amazing.
It's right in the center of everything but somehow just far enough to be away from the noise of the street. Restaurant was also great. Had tea, juice, food - all amazing. And again, everyone who works there were just so friendly....
Read moreI stayed at Hotel the Doors for 10 days and overall had a great experience. The staff are kind and accommodating with check in/out times, and upgraded me to a nicer room free of charge while I was there. The hotel is also in a great location; a 2 minute walk to the heart of Thamel but away from the nosiest areas. The walls are a little thin so I could hear people talking/walking in the hallway, but overall I was able to get enough sleep. The rooms are also a great value and the food/drinks are affordable. If you're looking for a no-frills, clean, affordable space to stay at while you explore Kathmandu, I highly recommend...
